"Ain't Lettin It Get Me"

This is a nice little simple song I play on my acoustic. A guitar solo after each chorus extends the length. It's medium-slow tempo.

"Ain't Lettin It Get Me"

Something about starting over
That curls up your spine
Something about getting older
Makes you feel like you've been wasting all your time
Something about being injured
That makes you stay inside
Something about being bitter
That makes love hard to define

I AIN'T LETTIN IT GET ME AGAIN
I AIN'T LETTIN IT GET ME AGAIN
I AIN'T LETTIN IT GET ME AGAIN
I AIN'T LETTIN IT GET ME AGAIN

Something about being sober
That makes you realize
Something about drinking liquor
Makes it easy to believe in all your lies
Something about a photo picture
That makes you close your eyes
Something about a piece of paper
That makes love hard to deny

I AIN'T LETTIN IT GET ME AGAIN
I AIN'T LETTIN IT GET ME AGAIN
I AIN'T LETTIN IT GET ME AGAIN
I AIN'T LETTIN IT GET ME AGAIN

sorta short, i like the verses but the chorus seems sort of bland and dull, maybe expand on the whole song a little. cant think of anything else much to say. but it has potential

crit my stuff if ya please-

thats really good. Its simple but its articulate its crisp it makes sense it isnt cliche and it wouldn't be hard to put music to it. Only thing that bugs me is the line "Makes it easy to believe in all your lies" to many syllables or something. Maybe taking out the "all" would help. Otherwise this is great. What kind of music?

Thanks provenA3; I've actually already changed that line by omitting the word "in". It's medium- to slow-tempo, just vocals and acoustic guitar right now, which is probably how it'll stay. The chord structure is D-Dmaj7-G-D, D-Dmaj7-G-A7-D for the verses (through that pattern twice for each verse), then D-G-D-G for the chorus.

Yeah, it looks ridiculous as a read, but in music repetition can be powerful. I guess you'll just have to take my word for it that it works.

I just posted the recording for this song here. It's our first recording, so I'm anxious to see what people think. Please tell me what you think of the lyrics and/or the recording. Thanks.

I haven't listened to the song yet but I agree with you there. The chorus is simple and repetitive but it drills your point in real good. And I bet it's catchy.

I listened to it and it sounded real good, although the chorus I think maybe was too simple and not as catchy as I thought it would be. But the rest of the song is really good. Anyway is there anyway I can download it? Cus' I'd really like to be able to listen to it on my mp3 player.

Thanks. All you have to do is right-click on the link and go to "Save Target As..." and go from there. It's definitely a good sign if you want to hear it again. Thanks a bunch.
