(Metalcore) Every Time I Die - Hot ****!

Every Time I Die - Hot Damn!

Every Time I Die is a metal outfit hailing from Buffalo, New York. They have a unique metalcore sound that is both bizarre, heavy and innovative at the same time.

Their latest release, "Hot Damn!" bests their 2 previous albums/EP's. The album is full of sporatic bursts of distorted guitars with melodic, well infused leads, and bass lines that jump up and down like a seismograph needle. The driving drum lines make me want to drop what I'm doing and hardcore dance with every listen.

Every Time I Die has a unique spin on metal and hardcore but clearly takes influences from such bands as Quicksand, Helmet, Converge, Children of Bodom (a song by COB is the bands own namesake) and Shai Hulud.

Highlights include the rollocking intro track "Romeo A-Go-Go" which begins with a powerful scream of "Tonight I'm coming home in a coma if it ****ing kills me!"

The instrumental "In the Event That Everything Should Go Terribly Wrong" serves to seperate the beginning tracks, from the two angrier, heavier ending tracks.

The strange, but satisfying "Ebolorama" begins with a quick riff and definitely defines this band's sound as well as you can for this band.

My personal favorite track on this album is "Hit of the Search Party." The lyrics paint a picture of a militairy group gone amok. When you listen to this track not only does the music strike you, the story being told strikes you just as hard.

Great review for my favourite band and favourite ever album! Its abit more rythm based than the previous 2, they were more technical, but they are all great.

And Hit Of The Search party is also my favourite song just cos of the lyrics, they are amazing!

I just heard these guys a couple of weeks ago, and and from the review you made from them, i will be getting their album.
Ebolorama is the only song i heard cause its on tv (Scuzz and kerrang!) and i also heard them at the Chimaira concert, they are insane but they rocked!

I'm thinking about picking up this album... I've liked all their other stuff, I haven't heard anything off this one though.
