(Rock Compilation) Rush - In Rio

The new compilation album of quite possibly one of the best bands in musical history. It's a fully live album, recorded on the Rio tour, spanning 3 discs and including 2 bootlegs: "Between Sun & Moon" and "Vital Signs".

For some history of Rush, in case you don't know much about them, they are one of the most influential bands in rock history. They set standard for musicians and are still amazing hundreds today.
With a line up that includes Alex Lifesone, Geddy Lee, and drumming god Neil Pert... how can you go wrong?

This album includes some of Rush's best hits, such as the eccentric track "YYZ" and some of their best work... from "Tom Sawyer" to "The Spirit of Radio".

If you're a Rush fan, this is a CD to get. Even if you're not, you will be after listening to this.

Some songs from the album that I recommend:
Tom Sawyer
The Spirit of Radio
New World Man
YYZ
Free Will
Resist
Ghost Rider

There's also a DVD that came out with the same title that covers them on tour. It has some great videos of Rush live.

SM's Rating: 6/5

Rush is my favorite band and this is by far the best dvd of a band out there. The first disk has the entire 2 hour and 45 minute concert. the sound quality is amazing and the presentation. From Tom Sawyer all the way to Working Man, rush keeps the fans energized and wowed as well as the viewer with there incredible musicialship and songs. the second disk has a surprisingly interesting hour long d0cumentary about the last 3 shows on rush's vapor trails tour. it also has different camera angels of 3 of their instrumental songs. Also it has a rare clip of their song anthem from 1975 and the cartoon showed during by-tor and the snowdog.

rating 5/5

rush is:
geddy lee-bass,vocals, mini-moog, pedals
alex lifeson-guitars
neil peart- percussion

I had never heard of these guys before last Thursday. I'm not really into rock/metal but my guitar teacher tells me about this DVD he bought and we watch it. I find out it's 'Rush in Rio'. I was blown away. That bassist can play! The guitars and drums were great to and though it's not my favourite style of music I think that Rush are a really great band.

DVD: 5/5

this dvd is ridiculous....

imagine if you can, tens of thousands of brazillians reaching a lake after 30 years in the desert...that is what the crowd's energy was like.
