(Ska-punk)Less Than Jake - Losing Streak
Cool, new forum
Less Than Jake - Losing Streak The greatest (not just my opinion, but jsut about anybody thats heard that album) ska-punk album ever. Everysong on the cd flows into the other really well, and the horns are used magnificantly. On the album, some of Less Than Jakes Best songs were introduced. Sugar in your gas tank, Hows My Driving Doug Hastings, 9th at pine, and some songs were redone and made even greater, Jen doesnt like me anymore, Johnny Quest... The only song the brings the album down is the remake of Dopeman, whic IMO shouldnt have been placed on the record. From Automatic to Lockdown, this album is guarenteed to get songs stuck in your head, and will have you jumpin and skankin for the whole thing. At a length of around 30 minutes, it may seem short, but its well worth a listen I give it 4.5 outta 5, just because of Dopeman, but i recommend you go and pick it up! ![]() Last edited by jimmymcmahon2001; 11-14-2003 at 02:32 PM. |

^^ Or me, but the version on this album is well sweet. I love Losing Streak, the double album with Hello Rockview is such a good deal. I borrowed it/them off my mate and it was in my stereo for months on end.
My favourite tracks on this album are Just Like Frank, Sugar In Your Gastank, Johnny Quest (obviously), How's My Driving and the last track I can't remember the name of... Oh yeah, Jen Doesn't Like Me Anymore, just for the outro bit which always gets me singing along. |

Dopeman is easily the best track on the album but i dont think its their best album, i would say 'hello rockview' would win that.

I'll put it on my list for next ska-punk album. The only stuff i have heard from Less then Jake is Johnny Quest and that one they cover that I cant remember the title where the raspy voiced guy goes "Uh huh uh huh uh huh uh huh" What is that called.... argh!

I've heard one Less Than Jake Song - which rocks. 'All my best friends are metalheads' So I'll see into buying this album to see if their other work is as good

I heard a song by Less than Jake called plastic cup politics and i pissed myself laughing at how bad it was. Itro was the ****tiest noise I've ever heard.
My friends and I always play it as a joke, cause it's soo funny to listen to. |

"Losing Streak" is Less Than Jakes ONLY good album. I bought "Hello Rockview" which was a waste of the 13 bucks I paid for it.

I feel Jen Doesn't Like Me Anymore was done MUCH better on Pezcore than on Losing Streak. (Mainly, it's the dual vocals at 1:50 in the Pezcore version and the lack of them at 1:48 in the Losing Streak one.) I also might possibly like Johnny Quest Think's We're Sellouts better on Pezcore as well (except for the horrid tone/the blaring of the trombone in the beginning).
Anyways, I thoroughly enjoy Losing Streak, though I feel Hello Rockview is possibly a better album. |
