(Alternative/Pop) Howie Day - Stop All the World Now
Howie day has been a relatively unknown New England guitar player, with great and innovative music. Recently, he has come into the larger scene with Stop all the World Now , the follow up to Australia. While Australia was generally a stripped back, emotional, acoustic type thing, Stop All the World Now is fairly heavily produced, with more emphasis on song writing than on instrumentation. Howie's voice still adds a lot of power and uniqueness to the music, although he is lacking some of what makes his live shows famous on this album. (When Howie plays live, he overdubs himself, essentially being a one man band, with intricate harmonies, choruses, and rhythms)
I would compare him to John Mayer/Radiohead/U2/Matt Nathanson, but he is truly unique. So... Best Songs: Perfect Time of Day Collide Trouble in Here You & A Promise End of Our Days Great music to listen to on a rainy day, studying, etc. Can grow old after awhile, however. Rating: 4 out of 5 |
