jazz vs pbass necks

The J neck is thin, and (IMO) very comfortable. The P is a lot chunkier and (IMO) less comfortable.

The only way to decide which one you like more is to try both out.

yeah, i dnt know, but i feel that there is a difference in string spacing? is it true or is it just me? im not really a big fender fan but im starting to get interested.

Yeah...

P bass necks are wider than J bass necks which results in wider string spacing.

A lot of people hate Pbass necks on Pbasses but love them on Stingrays.

jazz necks are just much nicer. so much more comfey.

i like jazz necks alot more....anytime i grab a p bass i feel like i'm playing a 5 string

Pbass necks are giant. It feels so weird playing them compared to my OLP.

some p bass's are larger than others. i play a 50s reissue and that's huge compared to a normal p bass. which again is huge compared to the jazz bass necks. which are huge compared to the neck i had on my yamaha rbx.

i do love the weight and sound of the p though.

which RBX? Ive noticed that the neck on my 170 is a near-perfect copy of the jazz neck.



anyway, yea, the difference is noticeable. it really just depends on what you like in a neck as to whether its a good difference or not.

i have a 270 and it seems a lot smaller than any jazz i've played. saying that. i've only played older jazz's and i've never played a jazz next too my rbx i just think it's smaller

I actually checked one day. They might be different in terms of depth, but as far as width and such, theyre more or less the same. I *think* theyre about the same profilewise too, but I cant be too sure anymore, because I thinned down my yamahas neck.
