My hatred of Spurs has always been irrational, but I finally have a rational reason now that they've denied me the opportunity to see Paul McShane hammer in a game-winning penalty. AVB has to go.

It was pushed back because Newcastle were at home the same day. The police try to make sure they both don't play at home the same week, particularly around the derby.

Roma has won their first 10 league matches for a perfect 30 points, including one with 10 men. They have conceded like 4 goals in those 10 games. What is up with that?

don't worry, they'll lose a cup match and a champions league game and then their season will implode.

no wait, that's someone else.

Roma have actually only conceded one goal. Rudi Garcia is a genius.

Also, yellow cards are sponsored by Centerpoint Energy in the MLS. Those are the kind of things that drive me crazy when it comes to the league.

although it's a strange feature of American soccer that so many teams seek out shirt sponsorship not just as a means for cash but also as a legitimizing mechanism

cuz real football teams have advertisements on their jerseys

But in general shirt sponsorship rare for the US, right? In other sports, I mean.

It's like how they call them selves DC United.

It is a legitimising mechanism. One of the reasons this site got ads (I think they're gone from the forums now) was precisely that.

Dortmund absolutely annihilated Stuttgart 6-1 tonight, with Lewy grabbing a second half hat trick.

Extra day of rest for them too ahead of the Arsenal game mid week too.

The thing about this result and Dortmund's increasing commercial clout within European fooball has me convinced that we're serious about toppling the monopoly and turning into a duopoly, and Klopp has signed another extension until 2018. Leverkusen look like the only team that are capable of keeping pace at present. Schalke are financially sound and have some superb young players but they're hilariously mis managed when it comes to on field decisions. They are however it pains me to say a manager with the ambition and tactically nous and fresh faced approach like a Lucien Favre or even Thomas Tuchel away from competing again.
