Most places do in my experience.

I want them to have fingerprint scanners which automatically connect to your bank account.

my swedish bank is charging me 35 SEK for getting cash from a uk cash machine

i always loved my bank but this is hurting me a bit

also i'm pretty sure they didn't charge me when i used french cash machines...

probably, I don't know, but I have the impression that it gets difficult since she told them the card number and she has to prove the fraudulent use. but that's maybe different between card number abuse and stolen credit card.

I give my card over the phone to order food all the time. If they try anything they dont have the security code on the back of the card and they dont have my name.

Plus itd be easy to catch them. Plus a business would go under quick if it was known for cc fraud.

ok, maybe it's changed but didn't it use to be the responsibility of the card holder to prove it? I prob remember wrong

They could technically sell over your card details for someone else to use, it would be difficult to know/prove where they'd got your details from.

But yeah your bank would compensate you anyway.

they'd probably just get their terminal revoked and be cash-only before they got known for it

which might also kill them

but yeah, merchants pay a ton of card processing fees that the bank sets aside for cases of fraud... the costs of paying out/investigating/etc for the bank are already built into the whole thing so they don't really put up much of a fight about it when you tell them

Not really. Sometimes the bank catches weird purchases before you. My card was temp shut down when I tried to use it in Montreal. I had used it the night before at home and I drove up super early so I guess the window in time was a red flag. They called me and it got cleared up.

When I got my student loan in I used to go on binges and the shop had to phone up the bank to do a security clearance.

it's funny like that

this little thing is the cutest little thing but i have a feeling that would be exactly what would happen because she's a tad on the typical boring / airy / faux-posh girly girl side which unfortunately i can only pretend to entertain for a short period of time

the level in which brit's try to come off as posh is a whole other level, yes

it's actually hilarious how some european's try so hard, but i digress

when i say she tries to act posh i just mean tries to act clean, fresh, fashionable, sophisticated, holds typical family values high, etc

which is just not me, at all
