jodie foster was the worst part of carnage

like toward the end i wanted to throttle her. the role probably asked her to do such things but it really seemed like she was overdoing it

A BitterSweet Life

Yup another South Korean revenge film.....

nothing particularly South Korean about it except the use of an orchestra. Hell, Jason Statham could have been a perfect fit for the protagonist. But still a enjoyable film.

+1 whole rating for it being South Korean ofc.

6.5/10

haha, yeah Though I do agree with his ratings, except A Bittersweet Life. That one's a 7.5/10.

Also, that last one is called Musa, not Masa, and it's at least a 6.5/10. Come on...

^^ movie so boring man, the best thing about it was the costumes. I think I only got like 3 or 4 more korean movies to go through (Man From nowhere, Attack of the Gas Station, Tale of two sisters, and maybe anything else that peaks my interest through google)

The Host, Mother, I saw the Devil, Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War, and to a lesser extent, Oldboy are the standouts so far

Fucking awesome.

I didn't actually want to see it in 3D because I can't quite see 3D properly but they weren't showing the 2D one in my local cinema at home. But whatever, it was fine, didn't add anything to it though.

I've seen bits of it since watching it for the first time as a kid, but never properly and all the way through. It's hilarious. So much of it is terrible, but I absolutely love it and it's perfect. I read part of that Jezebel article (http://jezebel.com/5898432/i-re+watched-titanic-so-you-dont-have-to-youre-welcome) that's like 'wah the characters are unrealistic and rose is such a dick' but seriously, who wants to watch three hours of boring? Love, death, big hats. Cameron delivers.

you'll never pass as a guy going to see the re-release of titanic in 3d no matter how cynical of an opinion you try to back it with

didn't they explain this in gender reassignment counseling

anyway last three movies for me were..

contagion - 7.5/10

pretty good for a realistic movie about people getting sick and dying i didn't really expect much but the cast delivered

the three musketeers - 3/10

3 points for sword fighting, 0 points for acting/writing/casting/talent

worst movie i've seen in i don't fucking know how long

j. edgar - 8.5/10

solid rating for direction, casting, premise, insights, etc

would have gotten a better rating if it didn't time jump so unexpectedly and put so much effort into getting the audience to sympathize with the fact that hoover was a closet homo

dicaprio was pretty solid in this though, as usual

The Man From Nowhere
The characters are one-dimensional but cool, well one of the bad guys is psycho crazy in a cool-laid back sort of way but he has a conscience. Too much edits during the fight scenes, the first fight scene had like two different camera shots for one punch but thankfully they cooled down the editing for the other scenes.

The kid is just waay too cute in this film, I swear when I saw her I wanted to take her home and pamper her.

7.5/10

A Tale of Two Sisters

Eh.....yeah just Eh....overrated. Cinematography is spot on. Movie is too Korean. But it seems like one of those movies that gets better with repeated viewings. Didn't see all the plot twists coming either. My Step mother was a bitch too.

5.5/10

Attack the Gas Station is a lot of fun.

Here's some I don't think you've posted reviews of:

3-Iron
Thirst
A Dirty Carnival
The King and the Clown
My Dear Enemy
Daytime Drinking
Going by the Book

Titanic has naked Kate Winslet so it's not all bad.

Was he portrayed as gay or just a crossdresser? Because they're not remotely the same thing.

He's portrayed as a mama's boy homo who breaks down when his mom dies and puts her clothes on once to cope with her loss.

And I didn't think Eastwood tried for sympathy for him being gay but to understand he was a flawed man, who happened to be gay, but who also accomplished much for this country, and isn't just some paranoid, power-hungry egomaniac.

I didn't expect this to hit me as hard as it did. Questions the apathy of dreamers faced with beauracracy in funding advancedment of civilisation, whilst the gap between the rich and the poor remains ever growing and tensions brew about where the government's best interests lie. I found it really sad, probably one of the best japanese animations i've seen.

Island of Lost Souls

30s adaptation of Dr. Moreau. Has all the hang-ups of movies back then but pretty enjoyable. Especially liked Bela Lugosi as the Sayer of the Law.

Hindsight 6.9/10

Martha Marcy May Marlene

The best thing going for this movie are the jump cuts from present to past that effectively show the trauma Martha is going through. While the relationship between the sisters, and lack of help for Martha, are frustrating, there feels a great sense of realism in her suffering.

Very slow and deliberate in its telling, but just as haunting too.

i wouldn't compare them, they're both really great in their own ways. steve mcqueen and michael fassbender are a force to be reckoned with.

The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans Colon Hyphen

Kinda figured the Herzog/Cage collaboration would'a been a little crazier, but I guess I'll have to wait for Cage to team up with Uwe Boll for that...though Cage jacking kids for drugs wasn't as horrifying as it had potential for. Still, felt like it had a Hollywood ending in the police station, then some strange indie ending in the aquarium.

Just weird and unsatisfying.
