It had to end like this, didn't it?
From the moment I stepped out into the embrace Of a non-existent god, It had to end like this. I made you a Lady, a pointless title for a stupid 'nation' Because we liked that kind of thing. I'm glad it made you smile, like I'm glad my fingers work Almost as well as that thing that doesn't anymore. I'm glad I've made you scream Almost as often as you've cried. You gave me a pocket watch the day I left you. I wrap it round my finger, dangle it in front, Swing it like the pendulum above my neck Scratching at my beard. "Soon", It whispers in rustles. "Too late" I reply as I set it aside We can't have our time again. So let me forget all that we didn't do. So let me forget that which I did. |

Absolutely Awesome, I love it.
I take it this was one of those poems that was a real spur of the moment kind of thing and you were feeling highly emotional when you wrote it? (I just know I'm going to look stupid if it wasn't  ) Best stuff usually comes round from that. |

The title is slightly misleading lol
Unless your writing style is very covert and subtle; I couldn't really make the connection. It contradicts my writing style, which is more direct and overt. But either way, I like it. What's the idea behind the song? Where did you get the idea? |
