That's some retarded arse shit there.
The most likely thing is he's accidentally imported the files to a faster BPM grid and the program has pitch shifted it automatically to force-fit it rather than detecting than the tempo. Changing the sample rate can change the pitch too. |

The sample rate does sound like a possible culprit. I'll have to see what he records at. |

Yeah, idk what that could be. But why in god's name would you export to mp3 if you were going to keep working with it? Ugh.

That's fair. I'd just have a hard time getting "into it" with an mp3, even for recording demos.

Or use a plugin and drop the track down a semitone. I'm sure most DAWs don't even need an outside plugin.

Tenor guitar is here. Just on my way to pick it up. Pics, initial impressions, and maybe some sound clips to follow.

What are your initial impressions? Got any sound clips? What's the tuning?

The tuning is CGDA, like a cello. The A is a fifth above the high E on a guitar.
Initial impressions are excellent. The thing is built quite well. I am especially impressed with the tuners and the bridge. The neck is comfortable, the string spacing is definitely better suited to bass players than guitarists. The pickup is hot as hell. Running it through my roommate's tube amp, I had this thing screaming. Recordings at some point. I bought some new recording hardware, as well (thank you, tax return), but I'm having trouble getting my laptop to recognize my drivers for it. |

No recordings for the foreseeable future. Hardware doesn't work properly (drivers cause fatal error). Fucking pissed.

Basses were the first cool instrument and remain the instrument of choice for serious pimps the world over.

Sigh. I used to have one. Had it for 4 years, and after a series of harddrive failures, I thought I'd go back to Windows so I could get a laptop that could game, as well. Sorely wishing I had bought another Mac instead. In another 2-3 years maybe, but I'm stuck with this thing for now.

Just got back from a math conference last night. It was kind of cool. I think next year I'm going to give a talk while I'm there.

I also had the luxury of staying at a hotel that was closing for renovation for a year. As a result, the hotel bar had to close and was anxious to unload all of their alcohol. $1 well drinks and $2 ANYTHING else. Needless to say, many glasses of Glenlivet, Ketel One, Patron, and top-shelf Long Island Iced Teas were constantly heading toward our table. I think I was solely responsible for opening and emptying the entire bottle of Ketel One during my two nights there. So worth it. |
