EMGs + Stratocaster = ???
Not that I have any intentions of doing so, but if I were to swap EMGs into my Strat, would it no longer be a Stratocaster?

It would still be a Strat, just a really lame one.

Most people, and so it seems if you are making your own guitar, refer to the shape of the body when they are talking about a name. If you follow that train of thought the neck, the pickup, the bridge, the pick-guard (if there is one), has nothing to do with the fact it is a Stratocaster.
Especially if the thing is made a Fender Stratocaster, I don't think any swapping of the electronics will change that. Swapping of the neck, pending the headstock, will probably make the average person look at it and **** their head if you ask them what type of guitar it is. However, a strat body is a strat body to me. |

Neither of those idiots can hold an argument. Neither of them have made any valid points.
I'm seriously trying to comprehend what they're even arguing about; it's like two separate conversations. More reasons to disable youtube comments. |

Prince had an awesome tone with EMG hbs in his strat and Gilmour has an awesome tone with EMG SAs in his, both of them still sound like strats.

That debate doesn't really debate anything at all.
