EMGs + Stratocaster = ???

Not that I have any intentions of doing so, but if I were to swap EMGs into my Strat, would it no longer be a Stratocaster?

Most people, and so it seems if you are making your own guitar, refer to the shape of the body when they are talking about a name. If you follow that train of thought the neck, the pickup, the bridge, the pick-guard (if there is one), has nothing to do with the fact it is a Stratocaster.

Especially if the thing is made a Fender Stratocaster, I don't think any swapping of the electronics will change that. Swapping of the neck, pending the headstock, will probably make the average person look at it and **** their head if you ask them what type of guitar it is. However, a strat body is a strat body to me.

Prince had an awesome tone with EMG hbs in his strat and Gilmour has an awesome tone with EMG SAs in his, both of them still sound like strats.
