hey aaron, what's up?

TJ, for my house. The one that looks built is 10"x12"x20" or so. There should be a picture of a 3d model of all three speakers on a desk, which is how it'll be.

FB: it sure is a lot of fun here. Next semester I have a microphone technique class, and i'll be going to an AES student summit in St. Louis, and I'll probably be doing a sound design for a play, all while working on my car and shooting videos with a student org.

Sounds like you have it made!

I'm a computer science major at a well known engineering university and recently i've been rethinking my choice of major. I'm taking a music appreciation class and found that very interesting so i was considering a music minor but would be an additional 24ish units. Luckily i like my major right now and i'm hoping that i can tie computer science in with music somehow i.e. work for a company writing audio software (Cakewalk maybe? )

go into video game audio. It's a vastly expanding market right now. Start playing around with a program called FMOD -- it's a tool for sound designers and audio coders to work together. (The sound designer puts sounds into FMOD and then FMOD spits out a database and some code which the programmer stitches into the game engine.)

I'm very serious... I'm looking into the industry myself, and there's a world of opportunity.

I'd recommend staying in computer science and minoring in something along the lines of video game audio or whatever it is specifically you would like to do. More marketability for yourself if your degree is computer science rather than something more specialized, but that's just my thoughts.

Chip: I actually got FMOD a few weeks ago because i wanted to try and make a media player (iTunes/WMP) but i could never get it to work (some computer science major i am!). I'll have to try again though.

Sound design in video games sounds perfect for me as i am interested in audio and enjoy playing video games too.

sLark: I'm planning on doing the "4+1" program that my college offers. I'll get my bachelors in 4 years (probably less since i'm ahead right now) and my masters one year after that.

Probably a lot since we last spoke Dave [I added you on FB by the way]. Moved house; back to my mum's, and am renting out my house for a while. Starting my own label. At uni. Still working full-time. Usual biz.

Nah, record label. Well, not-for-profit and net-based. It costs a lot to get things pressed. FB = facebook. I'm Aaron Cox.

I've got six lined up, and have been working casually with them already. It's more electronica, so it's duos and solo artists moreso.
