The Macpodz are sweet, I caught them twice at Mountain Jam, real cool stuff. I think they're from Ann Arbor, aren't they? |

Bisco in San Diego
How was their 10/28 show!?!
I've never been to a concert of theirs before, but am stoked to go to their 11/18 one in San Diego. They are playing at 4th & B. It seems like this is a different type of venue than they normally play though, has anyone been or is going? http://bit.ly/4e02zh |

so railroad earth just put on quite possibly the single greatest show I have ever been to, and I've probably been to 100-150 including some real good ones... but man I have just never experienced anything like last night before. What can I say besides you guys are in for a hell of a treat.

^Do it! Touring with a band you love is one of the most exciting and fun things for a live music enthusiast to do. Great times are had on tour, especially if you're travelling with a select few close pals.

Yeah seems like it would be a blast. My friend and I agreed that next time Railroad Earth comes through the Midwest we'll have to hit a couple more shows.
tlg just announced a winter tour through the midwest so i'll probably be doing minneapolis, madison and maybe chicago. should be fun, although doing a tour through the north midwest in january is pretty ****ing stupid. it'll be freezing. |

I'm going to see an Umphrey's Stew Art show at 9:30 on the 21st. I don't know if you guys have heard anything about these things yet, but it's a small show (I think they only sold like 50 or 100 tickets) and the audience texts themes that are projected on a screen and the band tries their best to play to them.
I'm pretty excited to see how this turns out. Also Blues Traveler tomorrow, first time seeing them. |

Umphrey's seems to a lot of really cool things like that. i know they provide free tickets for tapers which i think is an absolutely brilliant idea and something all bands should do. that you're seeing them do sounds pretty crazy and interesting, let me know how it works out.

Blues Traveler was great. They played a some great covers (Devil Went Down to Georgia, What I Got by Sublime, and What You to Want Me). Popper was taking shots on stage all night, and by the end of the show he was obviously trashed, but it seemed to only make him play better. The crowd was surprisingly old, I'm pretty sure I was the youngest person there.

Just uploaded a couple must-hear shows on my blog- http://chinacatsunflower.tumblr.com/
Uploaded 2 David Nelson Band soundboards from this past summer tour. David Nelson is from New Riders Of The Purple Sage and his band is incredible and pretty different from NRPS. Lots of very psychedelic jamming, but there's some country rock/roots stuff too. All five members played with Phil Lesh & Friends at some point and the band just plain rocks, especially Barry Sless. Check out his playing, it's incredible. |

furthur tour announced.
it'll be hard for me to make it any of the shows, i might have to wait until festival season (I would expect them to play the last night of Vibes, as it will be Jerry's birthday and all)... |

Had the Umphrey's S2 show on Saturday. It was a really cool experience being in such an intimate environment with the band. I thought for the most part the guys did a great job playing along to the themes, and a few of them resulted in some truly great jams. My brother and I both got texts put up (mine was the very last one), which was cool.
You can see all the themes that were used here: http://blog.umphreys.com/cs/blogs/thefloor/ Some of the better ones were "slayer plays techno," "sesame shakedown street," and "Johnny Cash vs. Jerry Garcia." |
