Sticker art lutherie
This may sound lame at first, but I am looking to re-do my bass with some stickers (don't worry, not band logos or skate brand logos) but I'm not sure i wanna just stick em on, don't want them to peel off or get scuffed.
I'm looking to repaint the bass anyway, so do I put stickers on then lacquer over em after painting? Will that work? Or something different? Last edited by Kickflip_Burrito; 10-09-2009 at 06:31 PM. |

wait, so you're going to put a lot of stickers on it. then repaint the body? why? i've done the sticker thing with my first guitar:
![]() i just put whatever sticker i get from random objects. but if i were you, i would go ahead and just refinish the body. if you do end up putting stickers on, it will look "cooler" distressed. so don't polyurethane the body after sticking stuff on it. |

Yeah it'd work but that's just another sticky layer (lacquered) that you'd need to get through if you wanted to ever repaint it other than that it would work I know a guy who just did it with a '76 rickenbacker rebuild complete band logo stickers through it...

Thanks guys.
Just to clarify, I'm looking to repaint the body and maybe mod the shape a lil bit BEFORE I do any stickerwork. I just wanted to know, once the body is repainted and stuff, and then the stickers go on, is there much point lacquering it all. |
