every thought or motivation or action by a human or any conscious living individual is at its core driven by the instinct to procreate and give those genetically similar to you the best chances to procreate, altered brain chemistry or not
you may be less in control or aware of your behavior and reasoning under the influence of some drugs like alcohol but they don't make you temporarily less animalistic
