My co-worker wants a new amp for his band. They are a ska/punk band, but they want something that is going to last for awhile. He needs crisp cleans and he's into Marshall type distortions/OD.

What are some good amps that have this sort of sound. Max would be $1000, but preferrable under $800. He plays through a Gibson LP. It also needs to be loud enough to hear at small to medium sized bars/clubs.
