53. Sugarcult
Sugarcult are a pop-punk band out of Santa Barbara, California. They formed in the late 1990’s and their first hit album, Start Static, was released in 2001. They are best known for their catchy, radio-friendly hits such as “Pretty Girl”, “Bouncing Off The Walls”, and “Memory”, and have often been compared to bands such as blink-182 and Green Day. They have toured with many internationally known artists, and their popularity continues to soar.

52. Funeral For A Friend
The Welsh foursome have recently become popular with they're strange mix of Metal, Emo and Pop-Punk. Appearing in 2002 with their first EP's 4 Ways to Scream your Name and Between Order and a Model, the band soon began to achieve relative fame in the UK, outside of the Welsh vallies that had spawned them. Their compilation of EP's entitled 7 Ways to Scream Your Name ended up getting the band landed on the front cover of alternative music magazine Kerrang! and led them to start work on their first full length album Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation. It was given a UK release in October 2003. As the Album wasn't released in the US immediatly, the band's publicity was narrowed to the UK only. They eventually managed to boost their exposure by opening for Iron Maiden on a European tour. Following this, the band recorded a DVD of their own tour, which even took them to America (The DVD is called Spilling Blood in 8mm). In 2005, the band re-emerged with their 2nd full length album entitled hours. The single Streetcar did relativley well, and the album rose into the UK top 40, earning the band a stint on Top of the Pop's. It seems the bands style of melodic sounding metal inspired music has started to take the world's attention, with the unique Duel vocals of Lead Singer Matt Davies and the Agressive screaming vocals from Drummer Randy Richards, Awesome metal inspired guitar riffs from Guitarists Kris Roberts and Darren Smith and pounding root note basslines from Matt's brother Gareth Davies.

50. Guttermouth
Guttermouth, the Huntington Beach punks formed in 1989, their line up is vocalist Mark Adkins, Dered Davis and Scott Sheldon on guitar, bassist Stever Rapp and Captain James T. Nunn on drums. In 1992 they issued their first sull length and joined Nitro records (The Offspring’s Dexter Holland’s label), they have released 8 albums and also one live album. They joined Epitaph in 2000 and have released three albums on Epitpah. Their latest Eat Your Face, released in 2004 is amazing, full of snotty, funny and sometimes plain stupid punk songs. They are one of the catchiest bands on the planet and are very enjoyable to listen to.

49. The Soviettes
Formed in 2000, The Soviettes are one of the few new pop punk bands making an impression in the new milenium
playing catchy, energetic tunes that resembles classic bands such as the Buzzcocks and the Undertones. Getting an
unlikely shot with major pop punk label Fat Wreck Chords after they inpressed with their first two albums on Adeline
the band showed they could preform and record some unique and quirky music with their Fat debut earlier this year.
A promising band for the future.

48. Groovie Ghoulies
The Groovie Ghoulies have been turning out horror influenced pop punk for the last 15 years, filled with catchy, fun filled melodies similar in sound to that of the Ramones. Although their sound is somewhat generic and some of their songs sound similar they have an energetic and catchy sound that no pop punk fan could deny. Recently the band has had various line-up changes and are continuing to release music putting out a cover album on their own label.

47. All American Rejects
Tyson Ritter and Nick Wheeler were in junior high when music started
to influence them. Stillwater, OK, wasn't exactly the most exciting
place in the world, so they turned to music to idle time away. While
Ritter was staying up late, watching music videos, and rocking out to
AC/DC, Wheeler was on the other side of town raiding his sister's
music collection of Def Leppard, Poison, and Bon Jovi. Wheeler soon
picked up a guitar and later picked up the drums and piano. At a
high-school party, Ritter spotted Wheeler; and from there the band
took shape. Mike Kennerty and Chris Gaylor were added to Wheeler and
Ritter's rascal group by 2000 and the band was official. The
All-American Rejects independently released their self-titled debut on
Doghouse in late 2002, and several months later it was reissued by
DreamWorks. Their latest release, Move Along, was released earlier
this year to good reviews and shows the band is still growing.

46. The Lawrence Arms
This Chicago trio has been playing their melodic, gritty pop punk for six years now. Blending heart felt melodies with gruff violent punk they have created an overall sound that not many will dare to venture in the direction of. Apathy And Exhaustion, their Fat Wreck Chords debut release was widely regarded as the best release of 2002, a fact that highlights the calibre of their music. With more releases over the past two years and an extensive tour schedule, including participating in 2002’s Fat Wreck Tour has enabled them to continue of their path of filling the world with tuneful, meaningful music. Don’t be the one missing out!

45. The Queers
Love songs for the retarded. What a perfect album name to describe the sound of this band. Fun, fast, melodic and funny would be the perfect way to describe them. Formed in the early 1980s, they started off as a furious glam/punk band. But all through the eighties, under the influence of screeching weasel and the vandals, they would change their sound to a more ''ramones sound'' punk rock. Although their sound didn't change much at all since, they've still been releasing albums through the nineties. Love songs for the retard is their most stand-out album, but pleasant screams shows that they still have some good pop punk tunes to write before they can step down in quiet.
