In some states, it's a crime for a minor to drink alchohol. Here in TN, if you are caught with alcohol anywhere, a party, in your own backyard, wherever, they'll suspend your driving priviledges for at least a year, and possibly fine you.

It seems to me that if you're old enough to legally consent to the act of drinking alcohol, such that you can be punished for doing so, you're old enough to drink alcohol.

Oh, yeah. I don't think legislation should play a part in mainstream movies. It's the theatre's choice to allow minors entrance, and the parents choice to police their own decisions. The US government is not a babysitter for teenagers.
