"A Night Sky Introspective"
A Night Sky Introspective
We breathe in paper bags
We walk through Stratosphere.
Beneath the real turned surreal
lie our sleeping fears.
We see the world through periscope.
As on crystal cold nights,
our ragged breath ascends the stairs
to sit among the bright lights.
Our analog's in time,
yet time just fades to dust.
Our rules remain Darwinian
And we do what we must.
We shake our head, but not our eyes.
Like a.m. yelling screams,
we'll fill our plaster with the cracks
of our forgotten dreams.
And I've climbed the tow lines of your upward gaze.
And I've found my footing and it's just enough for me to judge you.
And I've gained my wisdom from these screaming days.
Watching you attempt escape from this entropy I've been through.
...Our ship has travelled most of this night.
Under gray, city-glow seas,
we sail past the place where
beacons burn.
