I'm liking the sounds of this Jazz/death Metal.

So can you explain the type of stuff Technical Death Metal bands sing about? I've noticed certain genres/bands in metal only sing about like death, gore, and hell and stuff like that. Is it the same with Technical Death Metal? I haven't actually heard a lot of Death Metal before so I'm just trying to get an impression of what to expect.
