I could be wrong, but...
Crossover: that is when you have more than one cabinet (or an extension on a combo), and you are able to somewhat control which frequencies are being directed to which cabinet. ie sending the lowest frequencies to your 15"er, and the higher ones to your cabinet with 10"ers, rather than simply sending all frequencies to both.
