Arctic Days (title)

Following footprints set in the sand
Looking back,
I see the trail flutter and sway
The master maker of the prints strides ahead
And I struggle maintain his pace
My feet fall steep in those deep stretched tracks
Ushering me to move further towards
The fork in the road
Where the path splits I must decide
Where fate's dice
Reveal no numbers

I seek to view the path before me
But I do feel the need for advice before I decide

Peering down where my feet should have been
The next step in the sand is all but gone
Washed away by a blood hungry sea
All that remains is I
His protégé

Ice sweeps over my exposed skin
An electric chill down my spine
Shell shocked with frozen tears down my face
He evaporated by merciless age
Where I stand my feet sink lower
My master, father, accurate foreshadower
Swiped aside from sensitive existence
Sand will soon become snow

I seek to decide which way to go
But I lack the advice before I decide
