The trouble with Heroin is that it's just so more-ish

Real McKenzies - King Of Glasgow

There's a short drum intro before the guitars kick in witht he sound of someone whooping the background. Then the vocals kick in. The guys voice sounds a bit like Shane McGowan's at times and the music is reminiscent of bands like The Pogues and Flogging Molly but has it's own style. It's quite slow but is bouncy. The lyrics are okay and the guy's voice is good. At points there's some background vocals which work well. I liked this song although I kept thinking it was going to speed up and it never did. It's quite short but it was short and sweet. 7/10

Choose from:
Talking Heads - Once In A Lifetime (Post-Punk)
Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come (Reggae)
Dead Kennedys - Chicken Farm (Punk)
The Valentines - Blam Blam Fever (First Wave Ska)
Chuck Berry - Johny B. Goode (Rock 'n' Roll)
Stiff Little Fingers - The Message (Rap/Punk)
Devo - Whip It (New Wave)
Curtis Mayfield - Superfly (Funk)
