It's got a few faults by my standards. I think the highs could be clearer, but again, that goes along with the 15 inch speaker, and playing at high speeds seems to get a little muddy, though you can kind of get through that if you don't mind boosting your mids. This amp is built like a tank, as are most Peavey things, it'd be one tough cookie to break. But that goes with reason, this amp weighs 85-90lbs...it kind of sucks. My room is the basement, so lugging it up stairs isn't fun. There's a single handle on top, almost useless, a design flaw I'm sure. I'm looking to put casters on it. This amp should keep you over the drums and guitar if they don't get TOO crazy. I'd recommend playing it, puzzling out the EQ, then deciding on a buy. You'll be satisfied until you want to move on to something larger. (I currently am.) If that doesn't work out, you may look into the 2x10 extention, people say it does wonders.

I give this a 4.25/5.

Good solid amp, it'll keep you going for a long time, but in the end you'll want a little more.
I just bought one as I'm just starting to play the bass. Could you maybe explain what the shelving and crossover is all about. I can't figure out what it's supposed to do. Spanx
