Dropkick Murphys, 10/16
From the beginning it started off great, I was walking into the venue (Granite State Room, UNH) and no one else was out there, except for the DKM guitar player "the kid" or Marc Orell, so I said hi to him. Stephanie Doherty was also out there with him. And then I went inside, the show started, I got in the front row, and it was amazing, the energy was so high and DKM gave their all. When they played "kiss me I'm ****faced" Tim Brennan took over on bass for Ken Casey and he crowd surfed, I got to hold him up. During the song "the Dirty Glass" Ken Casey forgot to start singing, so then in a later line instead of singing what he was supposed to he sang "I don't know what was going on, I must have been thinking about the game". Because the red sox are playing tonight. Then for the last song "Skinhead on the MBTA" they brought everyone up on stage, like they always do, and I got up there and was right next to James Lynch(their other guitar player) and I got one of Ken Casey's picks. As if it couldn't get any better, Scruffy Wallace (their piper) was standing right beside me at the merchindise table, so I started talking to him about Ryan Foltz and his new bands, The GC5 and Motel Blonde. So that ended, and he signed my hat. They on the way out I also saw Al Barr (their singer) and James Lynch again, and they also signed the hat.
The setlist was pretty good, they were missing some of their best songs, but it was great no less. The sound was perfect as well. Loud as ****.
So overall it was a **** good night.
I've tried to work out the playlist, and I've got all the songs, but they aren't all in order.
