Here’s how I’ll do this. I’ll give genre, I will not give a purevolume site, simply because it would take too long, that doesn‘t mean there isn‘t one though, I advise you try. I’ll post a song to download as well, and if I don‘t say one, it means “get anything“. This is in alphabetical order.
The genre’s and comparisons aren’t the best. I’m half asleep as I’m writing this, so give me a break. They should decent, if not good though.
Metalcore:
36 Crazyfists - Metalcore with nice, melodic singing. There’s some Alternative in them. “Installing The Catheter”
A Fall Farewell - Metalcore. For people who wish Across Five Aprils was always heavy. Quality stuff. “With Blessed Grace”
A Jealousy Issue - For fans of early Poison the Well. Same singer as PTW’s original EP. “In The Shape Of Stars”
A Life Once Lost - Metalcore/grindcore. The screamers remind me of Anah Aevia. “A Falls River Farewell”
A Thousand Falling Skies - Metalcore. For fans of Dead To Fall.
The Agony Scene - Metalcore with a very unique screamer. For fan of As I Lay Dying and Haste The Day. “Judas” “We Bury Our Dead At Down”
Anterrabae - For fans of Norma Jean. “How Joey Got His Grove Back”
Arma Angelus - The band metalcore band that formed Fall Out Boy. I don’t know who to compare them to. “To Feel No More Bitterness Forever”
August Burns Red - For fans of Dead To Fall. “You Should Be Taking Flight Now”
Pop-Punk
5 Day Ahead - Good quality pop-punk without a whiny singer. Not very deep at all. Occasional screaming, like a less catchy Fall Out Boy. “Famous Last Words”
504 - Another quality pop-punk without a whiny singer. Not very original. “Kissing Old Friends”
A Step Behind - Loud pop-punk without a whiny winger. Quality stuff.
A Thorn For Every Heart - Pop-punk/post-hardcore. They have a Thursday-esque quality to them. “I Night To Remember, A Morning To Forget”
A Wilhelm Scream - Very talented pop-punk/punk/hardcore mix. Insane live show. A fan of any of those three genres should check them out. “Anchor End” “The Rip”
Albert React - Pop-punk with a hint of post-hardcore. For fans of Thursday. “Breathe”
All Rights Reserved - Post-hardcore/pop-punk. Talented guys. “You Know Who You Are”
Anadivine - Like Emery, but with more pop-punk influence. “Alcohol And Oxygen”
Armor For Sleep - Light, feel good (or not so good) pop-punk. For fans of Taking Back Sunday (maybe) “My Town” “Being Your Walls”
Post-hardcore
A Thorn For Every Heart - Pop-punk/post-hardcore. They have a Thursday-esque quality to them. “I Night To Remember, A Morning To Forget”
Anthym - For fans of At A Loss. There’s pop-punk, post-hardcore and emocore in these guys. “Broken Vessel”
Albert React - Pop-punk with a hint of post-hardcore. For fans of Thursday. “Breathe”
All Rights Reserved - Post-hardcore/pop-punk. Talented guys. “You Know Who You Are”
Anthym - For fans of At A Loss. There’s pop-punk, post-hardcore and emocore in these guys. “Broken Vessel”
At A Loss - A diverse pop-punk/post-hardcore/rock band. “To This Cross”
Hardcore
A Wilhelm Scream - Very talented pop-punk/punk/hardcore mix. Insane live show. A fan of any of those three genres should check them out. “Anchor End” “The Rip”
A18 - A not-as-good-but-still-decent Blood For Blood copy.
Emocore
A Closing Skyline - Emocore. For fans of Across Five Aprils (although ACS is a bit heavier). “Trial By Fire”
Across Five Aprils - Legendary emocore band. And fan of the genre need to listen. Their newest EP isn’t exactly great (to put it simply, it almost sounds like Story Of The Year), but “A Tragedy In Progress” easily goes down as one of my favorite albums. “Blue Eyed Suicide” “Pawn Shop Promises”
Anadivine - Like Emery, but with more pop-punk influence. “Alcohol And Oxygen”
Emo/Screamo
A Day In Black And White - Emo/screamo in Level-plane. Worth a check out for any fan of (real) emo/screamo.
A Petal Fallen - Emocore/emo. Not sure who to compare them to...a stretch would be Circle Takes The Square.
Acoustic
A Farewell To Arms - Legendary acoustic band. Any fan of acoustic should try them out. “The Road Less Traveled”
Indie/Mellow
American Football - Talented mellow band. No distortion, so if you’re looking for something heavy, look elsewhere.
Ariel Kill Him - Mellow indie band. Quality shiz-nit. “Bevinson In Winoka”
Next post will be for "B" bands.
