EMGs
I've decided to go for (more than likely) bare knuckle pickups partly for the variety really. I've been very impressed with the tones of the Miracle Man, and the nailbombs and warpigs have a brutality in tone that I rather like (plus the Warpig image pwns
), and they just seem like good alternatives that are pretty (relatively) unique. I'm after a personalised guitar, and to me at least, emgs are becoming too much of a norm to have a place in such a project. That said, I may well be proved wrong in the end (I intend to tinker with it once it's done). We'll see
Pickups rings
I like the pickup ring around the humbucker, but I'm not sure what you mean about them bieng tacky. The single coil doesn't really need one thanks to the black racing stripe, so that one will more than likely be ringless
