A little question on the topic of pickguards..

I noticed when I took off my old Squier pickguard that the pots weren't screwed into the pickguard, now I'm thinking of blacking out my Fender Fat Strat like AG's one. How do I get the pots off my current pickguard and onto my new one??

Any help is appreciated.
