The STrokes - First Impressions Of Earth.

Yup, going to be the one to do it. Their new album is available on the interwebbernet now and I have had a chance to start listening. Here's my First Impressions of First Impressions:

When I was a kid there would always be some bully ****ing up my game. Then one day, these bullies changed. It was either because I grew gigantic guns and was just so drop-dead gorgeous that girls often exploded when they saw me or they just became normal people - ****ing wierd. This album is sort of like that. The Strokes blasted onto the scene a couple of years back with that patented, monotonous, late-70's-esque rock. Everyone loved that, they were the bullies pouring **** on the world. Now, they've changed. Julian is doing something with his voice. Nick and Fab are moving outward with their guitaring. They have advanced, this is GOOD. However, contrary to anything the NME write; The Strokes are nothing special. The bully that used to beat down has changed into someone new, but is no one new in the whole spectrum of people. Similarly, The Strokes arn't really bringing anything new to the world. That arguement is used with every band of the now. So, I'll leave it by saying their is some choons that everyone and his bully should have a listen to.

Your thoughts?
