ok, let's see what i know about darkwave and suggest some other bands. First of all, the term darkwave, comes from Black Tape For A Blue Girl's Sam Rosenthal who put up Projekt (his distribution network) Eventually darkwave became a term used for all the dark music (then mostly unknown) promoted by Projekt. Usually darkwave stands for some kind of gothic. Dargaard are some pretty well known darkwave artists. However, i do not really like this style.

If you like darkwave though, you might wanna try listening to stuff like Ethereal or dark ambient ( from these styles, well, not necesarily styles, but i`m not gonna get into details now, i`d reccomend Cocteau Twins, Black Tape For a Blue Girl and from dark ambient, Raison d'Etre)

Also, related to darkwave we have ambient/dark ambient, and from there you could try Future Sound of London, The Orb, or Seefeel.
