A lot of my friends that listen to punk seem to hold Rock and Metal in contempt, scoffing at those that listen to it. I used to listen to punk and feel sort of the same way, as if the R&Mers were missing out on something, buuut now I prefer R&M over punk and yeah it just got me thinking. FOR INSTANCE, the other day, I was telling my "punk" friend how much I enjoyed this Rush album I got, and she's like "really, Rush?
" as if Rush is like, baby music! Then I asked if she had ever heard any Rush, and she hadn't. It's a filthy prejudice, and it seems to be pretty common, at least among people I know in real life.
So anyway, what do you guys think of R&M/its listeners?
