I use 81/60 and dual 81s and I can get great acoustic sounds and glassy and milky clean tones with them. It's all in the amp (Triaxis/2:90 + Roland JC-120 = sex)

Clean tone has more to do with the amp then the pickups but the pickups do help change that but if you have a nice clean on your amp that won't matter.

Batteries aren't that hard to replace and it take a while for them to die so it's no big problem. Right remember to unplug your guitar from your amp.

A Diezel VH4 isn't even close to a Rectifier-ish sound. Now of he used a Diezel Herbert I would say Rectifier but he's tone is more Mark series.
