Best southern releases of the zeros

Lately i've found myself enjoying some southern albums of the past decade but these motherfuckin southerns do have enormous discographies so i kinda download blindfolded only by checking into random reviews. Any recs would be hella nice.

kingsoby1 06-04-2012 09:17 AM

check rateyourmusic.com charts and sort by southern rap

WooHa 06-04-2012 09:26 AM

yea already done that
only thing is that that site sucks really bad

kingsoby1 06-04-2012 09:29 AM

it sucks if you dont follow the tastes of a few solid members. but overall it's the best site for discovering music hands down.

publicastration 06-04-2012 10:24 AM

yeah i agree

WooHa 06-04-2012 11:50 AM

no doubt

WooHa 06-04-2012 12:04 PM

illmitch what do you think about banner?did you like his last one with 9th?

illmitch 06-04-2012 03:11 PM

never really got into banner

youre robbing yourself if you dont get that paul wall & chamillionaire album, same with T.I.

Idnuf 06-04-2012 03:20 PM

I'm sure you've listened to CL so I'd say in addition to mitch's list you should get Restless by Trae and City of Syrup by Big Moe (the original or the c&s version). It's not from the 2000s but if you're listening to Z-Ro I would say get Look What You Did To Me before listening to Life of JWMV or Cocaine.

Also if I'm not limited by time, listen to Sailin' Da South, album's the shit

Idnuf 06-04-2012 03:21 PM

oh yeah wtf i didnt notice i just figured you had heard, Chamillionaire - Ultimate Victory is awesome

illmitch 06-04-2012 03:27 PM

agreed to all of those

Purple World by Big Moe has some great songs too

and yeah ESG is the shit. that album has Swangin and Bangin right?

project pat - murderers & robbers
trae - restless

WooHa 06-04-2012 03:30 PM

idnuf yea i suppose you can post without limits
just not classic stuff like Scarface, 2 Live Crew, Goodie Mob, UGK, Outkast etc.

illmitch 06-04-2012 03:30 PM
cham is dope, just never got interested in paul wall or t.i.
thats the best album chamillionaire ever made, as well as the best paul wall album

t.i. is a really good rapper. dont know why youre intentionally not listening to good music just because you never got interested in it

WooHa 06-04-2012 03:39 PM

i've definitely listened to at least some tracks so to say that i'm not interested in a rapper. t.i. has aight lyrics but i find his flow a little boring and don't really feel his production. about paul wall, i just don't like him, maybe find him generic

kingsoby1 06-04-2012 03:44 PM

loved paper trail

so dope

Idnuf 06-05-2012 02:44 PM

Okay if there are no time limits then you definitely need to check out early Three 6 Mafia, specifically Underground Vol. 1 (1991-1994) by the group and Da Devil's Playground by Koopsta Knicca (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WND3gAyzO1U listen to this 20 times in a row and you'll understand).

Also if you haven't listened to him, K-Rino is essential essential H-town

And based on the list you bolded parts of before, you're really cheating yourself if you don't listen to Tha Carter II

illmitch 06-05-2012 03:41 PM

also as far as old three 6 goes this song is essential

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLncg-jYvWM

WooHa 06-05-2012 04:40 PM

k-rino has lyrics broo

have listened to his latest Deeper Elevation, straight fire

iranscam 06-05-2012 05:56 PM

early triple 6 is the greatest
