yeah, and he has no idea what he's talking about. ask people at your local shop. and post more in the beginner's forum.

agreed, from the sounds of it you dont know too much about guitars, modding, etc...

go to a local shop that does guitar work and ask them if they could put in a TREMOLO

It is possible, but requires routing - I'd suggest saving for a new guitar with one if you really want one; chances are the guitar you're playing now isn't worth the trouble. Keep in mind hardtails stay in tune better (especially if you break a string - a floating whammy, such as a floyd will become unplayable) and are easier to steup and maintain.

People should be more respectful of those who are new to the forums...

and I'm surprised that people corrected whammy with tremolo, seeing as whammy is a better term.

Crapdragoon 05-20-2006 03:16 AM

fyi if you have someone else do it, expect to pay around 200 usd at the very least, and also what 100 bucks for a real floyd;50 for a lic floyd?

ImAnIdiot 05-22-2006 01:19 PM

Thanks for the help.

yeah considering its a vibrato unit...
yeah considering its a vibrato unit...
technically, none of the terms are correct, seeing as vibrato means an effect that causes the note to bend in small stages (somewhere around 1/4 to an 1/8 pitch bend is correct), tremolo is the sound dynamics changing in a pre-defined (generally across time, and shape eg triangular or square wave), and whammy, well, whammy isn't actually anything to do with music at all. but i have to say, out of all three, i'd rather hear it called a whammy, because it is the least incorrect.
