I think ITT we discuss Warmoth. Warmoth is a great website that a fair number of people use on MX.

Discuss what you've bought, the company, and what you want to buy.

My local shop speaks very highly of them.
I've not yet had the pleasure of playing a Warmoth guitar.

right now my one friend/neighbor/half bandmate is building a warmoth strat with lace sensor pups... If i get around to it, i'll post pics after he gets the parts and maybe some sound clips since he doesnt have an account on here

i got my necks for my project from them, very nice job they did.
Padouk and rosewood 24 frets fretted and fretless version,
the fretless feels great and cant wait untill my bass is finished.

Only negative thing was if you look very very very closely on some bits you can see the CNC routing blade swirls, but they can be sanded out easy enough.

I played a used Warmoth 6-string bass once. It seemed really really nice, but it badly needed a setup. Didn't play through an amp. But the quality of the workmanship spoke for itself, regardless.

I'm soon buying my warmoth. I'm still not sure about some things though. Here are the specs:
-swamp ash
-maple warmoth 25.5 neck
-maple fingerboard
-no inlays
-tuners???
-bridge???
-81/sa/sa pickups
-graphtec nuts

I'd really like tuners and bridge suggestions... I'm aiming at sperzel/hipshot for the moment but never ad experience with any of them before... And if someone got other pickups suggestions... I need them really versatile.

Also, if I decided to clear coat the body, would it match the maple fretboard nicely? What paint to use?

I'm getting a Jazzmaster shape in swamp ash, 22 fret maple with custom inlay, opaque colour, EMG 89/SA/SA. Just need to find the cash...

Yah, the warmoth parts have become so expensive, my uncle built a warmoth guitar like 5 yrs ago, and it's so secks, he only spent like 300 bucks on it. I recently priced the same parts he used( which I don't think they have the JM floating trem anymore) and it added up to like almost 700.

Someday I want to do a Warmoth of this:

Very simple and too the point. I'd oil finish the mahogany body. Probably have a mahogany neck as well.

I want to get a strat neck with reversed headstock for my strat copy which I'm gonna turn into a project guitar. I don't know what to do for tuners for it though...

Allright, So i've also been drooling at some of the stuff over at the Warmoth site. I want my next guitar to be from them, and so I found some stuff wich I think would go well together. I'm no good at this though, so I don't really know if the neck will even fit the body :)

But anyway, heres what I came up with - It needs more "stuff" on it obviously:

Well, I suppose the next thing for you to decide on would be the pickups.

Yea, theyr pictured on the right as you probably noticed... Was thinking Dimarzio Airnorton and tonezone. Not really given it much thought.

looks good, what woods are those you are planning on using, and is that a 24 neck?

If your asking me: The top of the body is in Ziricote and the rest Mahogny. The neck is in a wood called Wenge, and the fretboard in Ziricote.

I just had a freaking INSPIRED idea to make the greatest 8 string (double-course) bass to ever exist, from Warmoth parts. Picture this:

Arctic White SG Body
Gold Hardware
LP-Style Knobs
Black Headstock
Ebony Fretboard, No Inlays
Custom Black Pickguard
Gold Frets
Alembic AXY Activator Pickups

Due to the obscene price of the pickups and the cost of getting custom routing for them, the bass will probably cost about $2200, including EVERYTHING, I even looked up the price of the copper shielding, screws, everything. For something this expensive, I'd probably go to either Nino Valenti or our own SoM to assemble it and set it up, which would add to the cost.

I have a question.

Over at the Warmoth site, how do you know wether a neck fits a body or not?

they use standard measurements on all there bodys and necks so they will always fit together.

if you were talking about getting a new neck for your guitar though then you will have to measure your current neck and check it with the measurements on the site
