Great job on the crits in #103 everyone!!!

Disco Donkey 03-07-2006 01:15 PM

Yeah, that was pretty cool getting actual crits from everybody this time around. Let's rock it like that again for this one.

sketchyjoe 03-07-2006 02:03 PM

I like this word.

EDIT: I could've sworn I clicked on the other thread.

*Is in total agreement with the general sentiment*
Dude, usually people post the average too but whatever. I believe it. Haha me voting Bob as #1 bumped him prb.
Ha! get over yourself... Doesn't the highest score usually get dropped anyway? Or maybe it was BBB voting you #6... and, oh I can't be bothered...

*goes off to ponder the challenge word*

TojesDolan 03-07-2006 04:09 PM

jurialmunkey 03-09-2006 07:41 AM

Some Pg99 songs are great... even better though is the Pg99 crossover with City of Caterpillar - Malady...

Jetpack 03-09-2006 03:11 PM

Word so i figured i'd submit something for this... the word worked for my latest creation so im glad i can get some feedback for it

Disco Donkey 03-10-2006 02:00 PM

Yeah, so I asked this question in the Pit, but I didn't get much in the way of a decent response, so I shall pass it on to you guys. I'm going on a cross-country road trip with my girlfriend in June and I am trying to get some CDs put together with some good driving tunes on it. I have a small list started, but I need a bunch more. Any suggestions on what to add?

RunAmokRampant 03-10-2006 05:57 PM

Alice Cooper.

Bigbadbob 03-10-2006 06:01 PM

I tend to listen to System Of A Down-Toxicity when I'm in a car. I just always bring that cd with me into a car. I also listen to Incubus-Make Yourself when I'm in a car.

jurialmunkey 03-13-2006 07:39 PM

blah... I don't think I have anything for this one... maybe...... maybe...

Bigbadbob 03-16-2006 03:46 PM

Heads up everyone who's voting. We have to DQ pie20spike for not using the topic word. Good catch Jetpack.... I didnt even notice.

Jetpack 03-16-2006 03:57 PM

THanks Bob,

Was reading through it and i just was confused as I couldnt see the word anywhere lol! Anyways sorry spike man please enter again next time!! just remember to use that little word hahah

by the way bob, when this voting is done, would you mind explaining to me a bit about your work? its interesting

sketchyjoe 03-16-2006 05:55 PM

I kept reading 'skin' as 'skim' in his song.
sketchyjoe: I got a good impression over all. Some lines i liked better that others. Well worn subject but I didnt mind your take on it. Was this improvised?
Parts of it. I wrote the verses whilst bored in a lecture (when I really should've been paying attention), got home to find the new challenge up and quickly made up the choruses around the challenge word.

Ah.... Maybe he misread skin/skim.

Funny.... I just got a spontanous feel from your lyric.

sketchyjoe 03-17-2006 02:05 PM

They were spontaneous really, just two separate bursts of spontaneity put together. I didn't rework them in the way I usually do my songs.

you know, i kinda noticed and wanted to say that it seems that this should have been 2 different songs. that makes sense then.

Jetpack 03-19-2006 11:21 PM

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks a lot for your comments in the voting, I appreciate what you guys say and thank you for the critique as well!
sketchyjoe, Im surprised at your comment though because I found that I really liked the last verse, I guess that just shows that it gets interpreted differently by everyone.

I though the last verse was good but not as strong as the first half of the song. It felt slightly like an anti-climax, but maybe that's what you were going for.

yeah, i thought about it, and I think thats a pretty accurate interpretation, It does seem very anticlimactic, however that seems to be what i was hoping for now that i look back on it. thanks
