Yamaha TRB1006 Still in Production?
This bass certainly has caught my eye, and at £555 for a solid instrument, it sounds like a good deal, but are they made any more because every 6 string model on this website is out of stock:
http://www.netzmarkt.de/thomann/iw_smb_suche.html?sn=1bdb8afa97510ac51df4a0b2494e80ed&FOLLOW=1&SUCHBEGRIFF=trb&HERSTELLER=&PREIS1=&PREIS2=&ABTEILUNG=&iwid=2&PAGE=2 and I dont wanna buy one from www.gak.co.uk because they cost nearly £200 more which is pretty rubbish value for money |
It is, I believe.
|
i have heard nothing of them being discontinued, but they are great great basses, i own one myself and have found no tone that i cannot get out of it
|
sounds very delicious. Whats it like for slapping and what sort of spacing do the strings get?
|
the spacing is veeery tight. it's tighter than ibanez soundgears. but it doesnt take long to get used to, theres still enuff room to slap. TRB1006 = t3h pwn. the bass to end all basses......in my opinion
|
the 1006 strings are well spaced and great for slapping. ive got a trb6

if ya want any pics just say, or any advice on it |
Phalanx, just a heads up. Since Thomann is a German dealer the prices you see are without tax, unless it says otherwise on the site. You'll have to pay taxes when it gets shipped to you though, so the price will likely be a bit higher in the end.
|
Would GAK not pricematch with other sites so you can get it from there?

the spacing is diffrent on the TRB-6 and the TRB-6P, they both have 19mm. And are very comfortable to play on. I've found it so comfortable that i have a hard time slapping on any thing other than a TRB-6 or an Ibanez BTB(18mm). I'm sure the 1006 has atleats 17mm(standard for 5-6 strings) and a conklin gt-7 has 16mm. |

nah, they just have hefty P&P which is about £15 (mate has ordered loads from there) the TRB1006 looks like a really nice bass and from what you guys are saying, are very good as well. Some pictures of them would be great |

Well, all is good then. Just thought I'd point that out since I've heard some stories about international orders(as I'm currently looking into one myself). |

God****it. I must be the only person who likes the spacing on the Conklin GT-7. :p |

Yeah, I was thinking about either a yamaha TRB1006, or RBXJM2, but i heard the TRB was better for slapping. any thoughts on this?
|
This is a really old thread man; almost a year old now.
The 1006's are reaaaallly tightly spaced, and iirc so are the Myungs, so both will take a lot of adjusting to them. From there it's really just personal preference. |
dude, don't bump threads, especially, when they're as stupid as this one
|
tempted to do the unofficial mod thread close...
in general, yamaha's are not my preference for slapping. |
I want one
You dirty brits! |
