Why does it take so long to post a thread. Too many users logged on?

Yeah, the site's been running odd all day. It wouldn't let me get to the site for a couple hours. I don't know what's going on....

Can you be banned for chosing the worst word in history?

I don't know, can you be banned for not knowing how to spell "choosing"?

...And I don't think it's such a bad word anyhow. What's wrong with the word flatline?

It only has a meaning in one context?

And yes, it's a terrible word.

I guess that just makes it more of a challenge to use it creatively then, doesn't it?

How is that a good thing? You can only use the word in one godda[b][i][/b][/i]mn context. It's like "keychain".

The challenges are difficult enough when I have to figure out a way to fit "continuum" in stylistically (which is a word that can be used several different ways). It's just irritating when someone picks a completely context-driven word.

I know you can use it many different ways metaphorically, but you can do that with any word. It still only has one real definition.

Personally... I'm having a LOT of difficulty writing something for this. Actually, I'm just having difficulty writing lately. Writers block really sucks... I've been too lazy and gone out of practise.

Is it just me or has the S&L forum really gone down the drain... It feels like a puddle of crud at the moment. Every single piece I look at is just pathetic and I can't be bothered critiquing anything... What happened to all the good writers?! It feels like its full of crud.

I know this isn't really relevant to the challenge... but hey, theres no S&L Community Thread anymore. This is the only part of the forums I like or use, except occasionaly the Politcal Discussion forum in the Pit and the Bass Equipment forum. It really feels like Mxforums is really sliding down. Maybe I'm getting too old for it... it scares me when I see users who are born in the 90s on here. That freaks me out.

I have writers block plus I've spent the last few months working on a short story for my creative writing class so I need to change modes big time. Nah, I think I'll just plagerize some David Hasselhoff lyrics instead

It always feels like that. It's felt like that since the moment I got here.

It isn't really that way, it just seems like it. You're only noticing it because you're on more often now.

Also, I got rid of the community thread because no one was using it for what it was: a COMMUNITY thread. Several people continued to spam it to hell, even though it was quite easy to use correctly. I was not about to let those people off the hook.

Actually, morissey does tend to give a lot of in-depth critiques, from what I've seen. I can't say that for the rest of them because I haven't really noticed one way or the other from them. So at least he does try to boost the morale of the forums.

It's a she, and the reason I can't stand her is that she posts too da[b][i][/b][/i]mn much, which would be fine if all of her posts were interesting and contributive. They're not.

This is where I would point to the Community Thread as an example had I not deleted it because it was so misused.

Oh. I never went into the Community Thread, so I never noticed all of the pointless postings going on. All I saw was that she gave a lot of crits to everyone.

Well, let's just say after I deleted it, she lost over 2,000 posts.

I understand completely why you got rid of the community thread. What I was saying is that there was nowhere to post my dissapointment in the S&L forums because it was now gone, hence why I was posting it in here.

All my favourite writers from the S&L forum have gone... BlackBox, Ikikdababy, Ben, Hammy(Jim), gaslight, Reena(Saturnine Silence), Lowridden (occaisonaly posts, but not often), RollerQueen etc etc... I really miss Reena and Hammys work especially.

Man, you're telling me. Hammy's the best writer I've ever seen on the site, gaslight was awesome, and I really like the rest of those guys.

And I moderate here, I have to come in every day and put up with the fact that we don't have a lot of great writers anymore.

I'm sure someday it'll change, but I agree with you man.

yeah... its frustrating trying to critique absolutly crappy songs in order to get a crap critique in return like... "Wow man, that was really good!!11!!1! You are a good writer, it was a bit boring in parts and I didn't read some of it because my brain is defective. Good workz lolzzz!!!11!!111! 9.8/10"


Anyways, my song is up.. It's pretty weird but it has a very basic song structure and the verses follow a pattern. Wow... did he say structure... is that really JMunk??!
