Incubus thread

Incubus is a great band with alot of different sounds.. what do you think of them and their music?.

Tomahawk 12-20-2004 09:57 AM

They're pretty average.

Janitor 12-20-2004 10:02 AM

Incubus is easily one of my favorite bands.

IncMan 12-20-2004 11:59 AM

what did you think of their last cd, ACLOTM? i liked it but alot of my friends said it sucks

newbieX 12-20-2004 12:26 PM

incubus rule, everyone must listen to blood on the ground and circles, if you dont, then you deserve nothing and will get less than that.

lilsolsman 12-20-2004 12:27 PM

They don't suck.

Maybe you should check it out yourself. A Crow Left of the Murder is their most mature work to date, and regardless of how many people claim it's not heavy enough, needs to sound like SCIENCE more, or Make Yourself more, it's still a great display of songwriting and Incubus experimenting with new songs and sounds.

Sound Boy 12-20-2004 12:44 PM

Incubus is definatly the best band out there today in my opinion...

i know i'll get castrated in here for sayin such a thing but its true...radiohead is slippin

i'd go into it but im lazy at the moment...but thanks for startin a Incubus thread...it was well needed

KappaKid17 12-20-2004 01:26 PM

I wouldn't castrate you for that, especially just beause Incubus has been my favorite for years, but I do regard them highly as one of the best in the world. Jonny & Thom are about to debut some new music in the next few weeks which I'm sure will blow my mind, but the Incubus boys never cease to amaze me whenever they've got something new. The 4 movement song on the Halo 2 soundtrack is brilliant.

joebass 12-20-2004 01:52 PM

i liked their first 2 albums, but then they made Make Yourself and went a little too commercial for me, but their last album i thought was average

alan_pfeifer 12-20-2004 03:54 PM

one of my Favorite bands, currently tied with Rush though. Does anyone have an mp3 of the whole oddesy song? I REALLY want to hear it.

DonMancini 12-20-2004 03:57 PM

Yes, good band :) I'm going to go pick up Morning View tomorrow.

IncMan 12-20-2004 04:06 PM

Incubus has been a favorite of mine for about 5 years.. I liked their music a little untill they came to my hometown and i went to the concert. it was ****ing awesome and i have loved them ever since. in october they came back again which was an even better show. ACLOTM is a great cd but i dont think it can beat Make Yourself, Morning View, and Science. i dont really care for their first two cds as much, with the exception of a few songs.

PrettyScarySoRevolting913 12-20-2004 04:11 PM

Incubus is one of my favorite bands. The lead singer sings awesome and the bands plays really good too. You hardly find that combination. They're definitely under rated where I live.

search a few threads into the past in the alt/indie forum and there's a thread started by Incubliss I believe that has a link to the entire Odyssey.

True.

Happymeal 12-20-2004 06:30 PM

Far from being the best band in the world, but I love Incubus.

Macdaddy 12-21-2004 07:30 AM

ive liked all the incubus albums---i thought crow left of murder was a good progression.

but my favourite cd was make yourself.

best song imo however---is under my umbrella on morning view. someone about that song is very good even if it not a typical hit. pretty tight live as well

d-mart 12-21-2004 09:58 AM

their alright i would say, no way near the best. i think since they lost their bass player their muisc has got alot less funky/hip hop

Because they were very funky and hip hoppish on morning view. ;)

RadioSuicideReturns 12-21-2004 10:10 AM

Incubus write amazingly catchy yet complex songs, hence why they are one of my all time faves. I hate the way they get written off as posers because they are good looking? Jealous bunch of cunts. ACLOTM was a brilliant album in my opinion, Here In My Room is one of the best songs they have ever written.

Janitor 12-21-2004 10:12 AM

Sick Sad Little World is their best song in my opinion. And it wouldn't kick nearly as much ass without that guitar solo.

Have you seen the new DVD? Mike solos twice during Sick Sad Little World, it's freaking great.

Janitor 12-21-2004 10:18 AM

It's my favorite DVD of theirs, that performance made Priceless one of my favorite songs. I just wish the snare wasn't so ugly sounding on the album.

IncMan 12-21-2004 12:05 PM

I havent had a chance to get/watch their new DVD but i do have 2 of their other ones : Morning View Sessions and When Incubus Attacks Vol. 2 (both are great).. but i did have a chance to see them in concert in october and it was ****ing awesome.. especially then they had a 3 person drum solo, also when brandon brought out his tele and then mike started playing the piano and guitar at the same time.. very crazy... Is Alive at the Red Rocks a lot like their recent tour?

Janitor 12-21-2004 12:07 PM

I'd say so.

incubusfan89 12-21-2004 12:50 PM
what did you think of their last cd, ACLOTM? i liked it but alot of my friends said it sucks
not saying that everyone should like incubus, but the music most kids listen to today sucks REALLY hard. i mean punk music is just a bunch of guys with no talent at all playing power chords and singing like girls with high pitched annoying voices. i dont really know how rap is even considered music seeing how there is no instruments whatsoever. its mostly just drum machines and synthezisers.

just listen to brandons amazing vocals in drive, mikes awesome guitar playing in sick sad little world and the oddysey, chris' djing in battlestar scratchilactica.none of this could be achieved without a steady drum beat and sick bass lines. you cant really say the new bass players playing is less funky and hip hopish seeing how he was in a hip hop band.

The fact that you like incubus is cool, but you are an idiot.

...someone® 12-21-2004 01:04 PM

I really like Incubus - All of them are really talented musicians... - I think Mike is one of the most underated guitarists today...

ACLOTM is a very cool album - It's just a shame they had to change thier bassist for that -

Anyway - Incubus are great!

No one in the band even liked Dirk that much, even in the old days, I talked to DJ Lyfe about it. Ben has so much stage presence ans he's such a good songwriter that it's hard for me not to like him more than Dirk.
