Guano APes & Skunk Anansie

im a fan of both bands and i just wanto to know what you think about them...

munky_magik 12-06-2004 08:04 AM

Skunk Anansie were great, shame they split. Guano apes I'm not too keen on but I've only heard a couple of their songs.
I really miss skunk anansie though, Post Orgasmic chill was great

I really dig Guano Apes, a friend introduced them to me, I made a thread about them earlier trying to possibly find some similar bands, but it got no replies.

That they're German, Have a song called "No Speech" and had a video in the back of a truck is the full extent of my knowledge of them

Guano Apes' version of alphaville's "big in japan" is better than the original....... :thumb:

New Guano tune sounded pretty ok. I liked their first two records but never got into the third.

Its a shame that Skunk broke up..that was one hell of a band.

Skin's collaboration with sevendust on licking cream was F**king great...

that was the last time i heard of skin...

its too bad that Guano Apes had broken up too...soo sad.... :upset:

rata 05-06-2005 06:04 AM

ive just seen an old video of skin collaborating with maxim of prodigy.... it was a great track and the video is cool too....

Skunk Anansie were a great singles band. Never dug their albums too much.

'Weak' and 'Hedonism' are both stone-cold classics. In fact, Hedonism is my most played song on Audioscrobbler. It hasn't updated in a while though.

3rdplanet 05-06-2005 08:33 AM

I like The Guano Apes. Their first record has some of my favorite songs on but is generally weaker, their second is the strongest of their three.

The last isn't that fab.

rata 03-13-2006 06:38 AM

they got a track called "break the line", but it wasnt on their records...

its very cool...you can only find it on their DVD... supposedly the last track they recorded before they split up...

My band wanted to do a cover of open your eys by guano apes, but, since no one could sing it, we didnt =/

We used to cover it in my band along with Lords of the Boards. I love the Guano Apes first album but I never bothered to listen to the rest. Their live show was great a couple of years back, to bad they broke up.

Is there anyway you could send that to me? In an e-mail or something like that.
