Alright Let's get this thread going in a different direction. I'll say the name of a Jam Band and everyone tells me their favorite song/Album.
I'm going to start with an easy one that everyone should know: The Grateful Dead My Favorite Song: Bertha My Favorite Album: American Beauty |
fav song: st. stephen
fav album: aoxomoxoa |
Oysterhead: a supergroup with Les Claypool (bass, vocals), Trey Anastasio (guitar, vocals), and Stewart Copeland (percussion). I saw them on that short-lived HBO show "Reverb," and they seem to have an interesting show.
|
^Cool Did They Put any albums out?
|
Yes, The Grand Pecking Order.
album: Workingman's Dead song: Me and my Uncle |
Okay Let's move on to Phish
My Favorie Song: Farmhouse My Favorite Album: Hoist |
ah sweet sweet phish
fav song- stash fav album- picture of nectar |
Scent of a Mule
Lawn Boy |
First of all...Great Idea
fav song-ghost fav album-picture of nectar the breakup sucks its the worst thing thats happened to me this year in my life as well as many others. long live phish oh and dont forget the Flecktones or DMB |
Flecktones, aren't THAT jam bandish, a little possibly but not full frontal.
|
^True but they do fit into th scene rather nicely.
But they also fit into funk, bluegrass, jazz, etc. Is anyone going to Coventry or is going to/has been to any Phish concerts? |
I might be going to one of their last shows in Camden, NJ.
|
Alright How 'Bout The Allman Bros Band
My Favorite Song: Whipping Post My Favorite Album: At Fillmore East |
fav song-mountain jam (an amazing 30 minute plus jam)
fav album- live at fillmore east |
Blue Sky
Eat A Peach LAFE is overrated, Eat a Peach is where it's at. |
I know this is off topic but at the same time its on-topic with jam bands. It concerns Phish.
I know most of you guys probably have their studio recordings but in case you didnt know, their live recordings have so much more to offer in the ways of jamming and improv. LivePhish.com has lots if you care to pay for it. If not find a friend with bootlegs or something. |
