The MX Posting Marathon

Fellow MX:ers and users of the Internet. The MX Posting Marathon that we have been waiting for for so long is now just a moment away.

The whole thing is very simple, and it all takes place in this thread. All you have to do in order to participate and stay in the race is to log onto MX and post in this thread atleast once an hour. If there is more than 60 minutes between two consecutive posts of yours in this thread, you are eliminated. Whoever manages to keep this up for the longest period of time is the champion.

To be able to enter the race, you must have been registered for atleast a month and have more than 3.1415926535 posts.

Now, you wonder, when will this landmark event in the history of the Internet begin? Well, since the MX:ers are spread out over the globe and it's time zones and many of us have such things as work, school, sleeping, living etc to take care of, a fixed starting time might benefit certain members living in certain time zones. Therefore, you may enter the race whenever you want during a fixed period of time. This way, everyone all over the world can compete under more even circumstances. This period will be:

Between 12.00 GMT (that's noon in Greenwich and London) on Friday the 19/8, and 12.00 GMT on Saturday the 20/8.

So you have a period of 24 hours under which you can enter the marathon. Basically you can just post away, and your time in the contest will be counted from your first post during this period of time until the last successful of your posts. However, if you enter right at the start and stay alive for less than 24 hours, there's still time in which you can enter again. So you can enter anytime you want as many times as you want during these 24 hours, but after 12.00 GMT on Saturday the 20/8 the doors are closed. After that, only currently alive participants may go on.

We'll keep track of who's still in the race together. If you get eliminated, don't try to hide it. If you notice that someone has been eliminated, post it. The thread is open to anyone though, so feel free to post away even if you're not participating or if you've been eliminated.

And please... Do not cheat. I mean, we're all just a bunch of kids trying to gain popularity on an Internet forum. Log on from anywhere you want; home, friends house, school, library. But please, participate with only one account, and don't let someone else in a different time zone or whatever log on with your account. There's no certain way to say if someone has cheated, so I just ask you all to keep it clean.

Alright people, there's like 12 and a half hour until you can start entering, and 36 and a half hour until the doors are closed. So discuss, warm your posting fingers up, eat a lot of pasta and most importantly, lay up your strategy. May the best MX:er win! Yeehaw!

Maybe I should have mentioned that Jeremy Ferwerda can not be held responsible for possible deaths occuring due to the marathon. Or can he?

Also, I ask any mods to rep the winner, if you want. All for the race, you know.

ikikdababy 08-18-2005 04:52 PM

well... this might be original.

crazy.

Kingofdudes 08-18-2005 04:53 PM

Ha, ill rep the winner, if they care that much to win, a little rep will make them cream themself.

jarviss 08-18-2005 04:53 PM

Marzcho 08-18-2005 04:55 PM

Well, finally we get to know who is the biggest MXfreak.

Do the posts have to consist of something or can they just be mindless posts?

RedDot 08-18-2005 05:00 PM

:'(
Yeah same.
My postingness has decreased lately ):
Maybe this is just what I need.

sweboy 08-18-2005 05:01 PM

Oh my, there's now less than 12 hours until the race is opened. Also people, feel free to make guesses on the winning time. Will someone make it past the dream time 24 hours? Will the marathon carry on for years and the participants become cases for mental health services? Only time will tell.

Jacaranda 08-18-2005 05:02 PM

Interesting...

All I ask is a 123 or a 321.

Just prove that your not a bot.

Wanker 08-18-2005 05:05 PM

Who's gonna win

dundundun

RedDot 08-18-2005 05:08 PM
Who's gonna win

I think of this as the most useless post.
Making this even uselesser.

lilsolsman 08-18-2005 05:09 PM

You should make a thread for people to bet on who the winner is. The person to win that thread should also be repped.

Or not.

IronMcMaiden 08-18-2005 05:11 PM

I want to win but I'll be out on Saterday due to the football. :(

Klown 08-18-2005 05:11 PM

I think I can go maybe three days. :-/

Meh, I'll try my best, uni doesn't start for another few weeks so I have nothing else to do.

sweboy 08-18-2005 05:12 PM

Yeah, I could. But that could encourage cheating, and cheating is no fun. Feel free to unofficially tip the winner here in this thread though.

jarviss 08-18-2005 05:22 PM

its like the century club...but instead of taking a shot every minute
you post every hour. (or was it minute?) can't remember
-G

IronMcMaiden 08-18-2005 05:26 PM

A post every minute seems hard. What if you need a crap? That's would suck to lose that way.
