But the song has a bassline, therefore it's valid song suggestion for a beginner to learn.
Touché, I didn't know that.
Green Day: Brain Stew, American Idiot, Holiday, Hitchin' a Ride, pretty much anything they play
Mike Dirnt has been known to play some hard bass lines every now and then.

Deep Purple-Smoke on the Water-very very very very very very very easy

oh and leigion88, u need 2 listen to good music cause Metallica's music is friggin amazing. so the only way u can get outta this one is 1) u only listen to the lyrics and by doing so, u classify ur self as a girl or 2) u have no taste in good music whatsoever
Metallica is the best metal, one of the few bands who can actually play their instruments and can sing good...not much of a fan of bands that just scream and hit their instruments...
The White Stripes Don't have a bass player.
Yes, but if for example you're in a band doing a cover songs gig, and you do Seven Nation Army, it would be good to have a bassline, even if it's just so your bassist doesn't stand there looking like a prat ;)

Oz Rembrandt 10-26-2005 07:14 AM

Yeah, I just despise the White Stripes...

Lovesong - The Cure
lol i dont play bass but i already can play teenage riot and anti-flag stuff. maybe it's cause i'm a guitar player or maybe i have a nack for bass guitar. which is it?
It depends what Anti-Flag stuff you're talking about, a lot of people have stereotypes of Anti-Flag that all their stuff is easy or all of it is hard, just depends on the person. But really it's a huge mix. They have a lot of easy songs and a lot of moderate-advanced songs.

This list will be only Anti-Flag songs.
Easy:
Drink, Drank, Punk
Davey Destroyed The Punk Scene
That's Youth
Turncoat
The Panama Deception
911 For Peace

Moderate-Advanced:
Spaz's House Destruction Party
You've Got To Die For Your Government
Bring Out Your Dead
Angry, Young, And Poor
She's My Little Go-Go Dancer (pretty easy but the intro is pretty damn fast and the bridge may give the beginners trouble, so I put it here.)

Incubusiac 11-12-2005 04:41 AM

I've been playing for 5 months and heres what i can play, all these are beginner songs i guess:

Greenday - Warning
Greenday - When I Come Around
Greenday - Brainstew
Greenday - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
Greenday - American Idiot
Greenday - Holiday
Blink 182 - All The Small Things
Blink 182 - First Date
Blink 182 - Adams Song
Antiflag - 911 For Peace
Underoath - Reinventing Your Exit
System Of A Down - Sugar
System Of A Down - Aerials
Red Hot Chilies - Can't Stop
Lostprophets - Shinobi VS Dragon Ninja
Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal

And then all the really easy ones like:

Seven Nation Army and
Feel Good Inc

you actually had to look up the tabs for that song??

lol

darkshines 11-16-2005 10:06 AM

I've been practising Citizen Erased by Muse and Holiday by Green Day which are good for beginners. I find it a little bit tricky trying to get the timing right when I first start practising a song, especially with these, but they're nice and easy after a little while. I don't find Hysteria easy at all - it's VERY fast and the bassline is continous through the whole song so I reckon your hand must die doing that all the way through :S
