Kid's like 15 and only likes music that his dad's shown him.

Pete 01-16-2012 03:21 AM

yuuuuuuuuuuuuuup

witchxrapist 01-17-2012 02:05 AM

That reminds me, The Dillinger Escape Plan and The Red Chord too.

Those bands going to shit makes me appreciate how consistent Ion Dissonance and Despised Icon were.

jrowa001 01-17-2012 11:03 AM

Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Muse
Biffy Clyro
Foreigner

AYO MAGGOTS 01-17-2012 01:21 PM
Between the buried and me
yeah, unfortunately you're right
their music went from dynamic, a perfect mixture of brutal and beautiful to being absolute guitar wankery with no substance

I totally agree with DEP on that one, did you really dislike Prey for Eyes and Fed Through the Teeth Machine? I thought those albums absolutely ruled...

nevertoolate 01-17-2012 01:36 PM

Mappys trippin' like usual dude, The Red Chord are still making good stuff

AYO MAGGOTS 01-17-2012 01:37 PM

Is the new Ion Dissonance any good?

also, Day of Mourning also wasn't on par with the previous releases, imo.

xMalcolmXx 01-17-2012 02:02 PM

new dillinger was good too, def not on par with miss machine of calculating, but come on

nevertoolate 01-17-2012 02:17 PM

agreed
Is the new Ion Dissonance any good?

no it wasn't but had some pretty elite moments

Yeah the new Ion Dissonance album Cursed is amazing...you will not be disappoint

IDK I listened to TRC for spasticness, the new stuff is so like... groove metal sounding. I hate groove metal.

Don't like any Dillinger after Calculating Infinity.

AYO MAGGOTS 01-17-2012 02:40 PM

Do you dislike Meshuggah?

I always thought Ion Dissonance sounded pretty groovy at times

witchxrapist 01-17-2012 02:43 PM

I love Meshuggah, but that's not what I mean by groove metal. I mean shit like '90s Pantera and Lamb Of God.

And Ion Dissonance has good groove, I like groove in a song, I just don't like "groove metal".

Word I understand now. I hate the word "djent" so I usually describe shit like Meshuggah and Ion Dissonance as groovy.

witchxrapist 01-17-2012 02:47 PM

I just don't try to classify Meshuggah or ID haha.

And seriously, get Cursed, second best ID album imo.

Pete 01-17-2012 03:48 PM
Yeah the new Ion Dissonance album Cursed is amazing...you will not be disappoint
unless you have a problem with awful, awful (and intelligible) lyrics

better than "minus the herd" but "breathing" is sooo much better it's not even funny, also "solace" is probably better

Caspa 01-17-2012 05:32 PM

Rise Against.

AYO MAGGOTS 01-17-2012 06:02 PM

I've listened through Cursed and I dig it a lot, though not as much as Solace and Minus the Herd (though I've been a fan of those albums for a while, and that is based on one listen, I'm sure I will appreciate it more upon further inspection). Two songs which really stood out for me were "We like to call this one... fuck off" and "can someone please explain this to me?"

I haven't heard their debut album, but I'm downloading that now.

geddylee2 01-17-2012 07:34 PM

you dont have to be a dad to know thursday sucks

it's shitty music

geddylee2 01-17-2012 07:35 PM

also rise against has always been faux-punk rock for mall kids

have you even heard husker du?

Pete 01-18-2012 12:45 AM

mall kids have no idea about "the unraveling"

just saying
