William S. Burroughs noise recordings rule so hard

Jaundice 01-26-2010 09:54 PM

i'll have to give it a listen

the piece he did with him talking about selling heroin while kurt cobain played silent night on the background for ten minutes was a little disappointing

Meatplow 01-26-2010 10:07 PM

sounds awful, i'll probably love it

idk theres this cool harmonica part in the first track, its rough but the whole thing has a unique psychedelic vibe I dig (as far as I can tell at least, I would like to find more noise like it)

Ventriloquist 01-26-2010 11:55 PM

About time you put some A Split Second on the blog Haz. Digging them a lot lately.

Meatplow 01-26-2010 11:56 PM

Yeah, that release is pretty awesome. I haven't heard anything else by them though.

Ventriloquist 01-27-2010 12:02 AM

You should check Ballistic Statues out. Especially the songs Drinking Sand and Flesh(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRmP-WSae7A). Couldn't find a link for Drinking Sand. I think it's their best song.

Meatplow 01-27-2010 12:06 AM

Alright, I will. Thanks.

Heiling plenty of old school EBM atm, A Split Second, Nitzer Ebb, Klinik, Die Form, Vomito Negro. As it stands I prefer the 80's incarnation over modern stuff, I dig analogue bass lines and drum machines more than I probably should.

Txus 01-27-2010 05:47 PM

I remember a friend showed me Vomito Negro some years ago and it was pretty much ****.

Meatplow 01-27-2010 06:46 PM

Dare was pretty average, it had its moments though. It certainly wasn't my favourite out of that group of bands I just listed, in any case.
I wanna do a lot of stuff like that in ze future.
I can see the album art already.

Aaron 01-27-2010 07:12 PM

 What would it look like?

Txus 01-27-2010 07:13 PM

You should get this album, Haz:

Meatplow 01-27-2010 09:27 PM

i'm on it :)
 What would it look like?
You would have a photo of some takeaway shop where you buy fish and chips, but split in half by a yellow and black warning stripe and have one side reversed, then some dude standing in front (probably you) with a red square over his face. Then you would throw in some numbers somewhere, and have the title and artist name on the right pasted vertically in incongruent font.

Aaron 01-27-2010 10:26 PM

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. You know me well. Except I don't like the colour yellow much.

Jaundice 01-27-2010 10:27 PM

It's my favorite.

Aaron 01-27-2010 10:29 PM

Nah. I like black and green and yeah.

p.s. Haz I challenge you to chess tonight. 22:00 AEDST.

Meatplow 01-27-2010 10:39 PM

this is so terrible, lol

Jaundice 01-27-2010 11:51 PM

http://www.side-line.com/side-line_blog_comments.php?id=19778_0_45_0_C

this is awesome
The band had sent him the music of the song but they themselves hadn't read the script in advance. When they were actually shooting the videoclip, they started wondering why there were actually so many eggs involved in the script. Watching the videoclip you will see that it is indeed filled with eggs, even with people wearing egg-like hats.

The clue? It seemed that Anton Corbijn actually understood the title of the song to be "Egghunter"which explains the eggs... Even after he knew the correct title was "Headhunter", he still wanted to keep the eggs throughout the video clip. The mistake gave birth to a very absurd clip which was brilliant. It shows that even mistakes can become great ideas.
Jaundice 01-27-2010 11:56 PM

I like Anton Corbijn.

Meatplow 01-27-2010 11:57 PM

i've only seen Control which was probably a little overly sentimental but otherwise good

idk if i've seen anything else he has done

Jaundice 01-27-2010 11:58 PM

Control fucked my whole shit up, bro.

Meatplow 01-28-2010 12:07 AM

I bought that Suckdog book for $8 off ebay.

Aaron 01-28-2010 02:00 AM

"The mistake gave birth" pretty lol quote about eggs.

Meatplow 01-28-2010 02:44 AM
