!T.O.O.H.! - Řád a trest
Hieronymus Bosch - Artifical Emotions
I second these. Also, Hieronymous Bosch's Equivoke might be better than Artificial Emotions. I don't think the Monstrosity and Gorguts are really the same, though. From Wisom to Hate by Gorguts might be closer to what he's asking for. I think he really just means semi-melodic, semi-technical death metal with maybe a slight emphasis on counterpoint and polyphony? Martyr is great for that, their newest album might be their best, but be forewarned that the vocals are sometimes terrible. Early At the Gates, too. So maybe: Hieronymus Bosch - Equivoke Martyr - Feeding the Abscess Gorguts - From Wisdom to Hate !T.O.O.H! - Řád a trest/Order and Punishment At the Gates - Red Sky is Ours... Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness ? |
Oh ****, yes, I meant from wisdow to hate, i got confused :(
and I second the ATG recommendation. I never got into Martyr much though. |
I'm not big on Martyr but I listened to Feeding the Abcess off and on for a while. It's really well produced it's just teh vocals are so bad.

Prostitue Disfigurement bad?
|
!T.To>TOTOTOh! vox are more annoying
and fwth as str8-forward? rly? |
Prostitue Disfigurement bad?
Was this a question? If not, nah they're okay.
!T.To>TOTOTOh! vox are more annoying
They're weirder and I guess more annoying to some but Martyr's vocals are just really bad half of the time. |
Martyr's music makes up for the vocals imo. I just wish that the guy didn't do growls. His thrash screams/clean singing (?) is not THAT bad.
Gorguts - Considered Dead (This is more straight forward)

Oh ****, yes, I meant from wisdom to hate, i got confused
i don't think you were confused because Considered Dead is their most straight forward album |
I had to check which album came first right now, haha. Yeah, then I really meant Considered Dead. I'm loosing my Metal knowledge :(
Anyways, he should check out Gorguts doesn't matter which album for the exception of Obscura, but most of you will disagree. |

The End Of Six Thousand Years - Isolation

Alright guys I need an album that is filled with epic breakdowns... not necassarily chugga chugga breakdown... but breakdowns that are VERY good. Like they make you wanna punch babies.
|
What the **** is an "epic" breakdown? Give me a breakdown that you think is epic.
|
hmmm... The end of Jane Doe is pretty epic... The Saddest Day's breakdown is epic...
What the **** is an "epic" breakdown? Give me a breakdown that you think is epic.
a breakdown that hits you like a ton of bricks? example: death metal breakdown in hadlock by KOTA, right after the "it's clearly bree time baby" |
What mappy said, like a breakdown that is just so good you cream your pants. Anyways yeah need an album that has an unhealthy dose of those.
|
a breakdown that hits you like a ton of bricks?
example: death metal breakdown in hadlock by KOTA, right after the "it's clearly bree time baby"
I would call that a br00tal breakdown, not "epic". |

Heaviest and grimmest doom album I've heard. And it's also VERY atmospheric. |
