90s Emo Mediafire

All of the **** that you used to listen to before you traded your sweater vest for Nietzche and screamo.

Against Miik! 07-24-2009 03:57 PM

Wow this makes me realize how little I know about the 90s emo scene. I wouldn't even know where to start. Is most of this crap or what?

whiteminority 07-24-2009 04:00 PM

the majority of the **** on the front page looks rad, just give it a whirl.

Moon Flavor 07-24-2009 05:25 PM

as someone who's rarely listened to emo what are the top recommendations

kitsch 07-24-2009 06:38 PM

if you dl the .txt file he tells you to search "Selection" to see his recommended albums as a starting point.

xMalcolmXx 07-24-2009 11:11 PM

Not better, but Bells on Trike are worth a listen!

dei 07-25-2009 09:17 AM

Bells on Trike and 125, Rue Montmartre. If Rockets and Blue Lights are up on there, you should check them out, too. They are nice. They don't really sound like Cap'n Jazz but who gives a ****.

Gnarmageddon 07-25-2009 09:56 AM

r&bl are so good

dei 07-25-2009 10:42 AM

SugarCoatedSour 07-17-2012 09:53 AM

Tanner - Ill Gotten Gains (amazing, it sounds like billy talent went back in time stole their style and punched it up by being really really gay)

Lync - These Are Not Fall Colors (has a great, genuine, lo-fi sound)

Obv. Atdi.

Drive Like Jehu

Rites Of Spring

I'll have to get home to check on the rest

witchxrapist 07-17-2012 01:00 PM

Yeah, this archive is amazing.

SugarCoatedSour 07-17-2012 03:52 PM

Boys Life - Departures And Landfalls (I would highly recommend)

but a lot of them really really blow!

mediafire turned into a shitty service scared of da law

PsilocybeDreamer 09-21-2012 05:54 PM

All the shit that I used to listen to before I was born.

Too bad screamo blows emo out of the water, at least for me. In fact I don't really like emo other than emotive hardcore shit like Rites of Spring and Embrace and stuff. I don't like all that mellow stuff like American Football and the Get Up Kids and stuff like that, it all sounds the same to me. It sounds like they're trying to be all artsy and intellectual, but they just end up all sounding really mellow and and boring and very similar to one another. I mean I do like some Sunny Day Real Estate, and Cap'n Jazz (although they are somewhere between emo and screamo). Not that I dislike mellow music, its just that if its not really good or really unique sounding, mellow music is boring. I mean I do like some Sunny Day Real Estate, and Cap'n Jazz (although they are somewhere between emo and screamo).

zinc 09-21-2012 08:45 PM

i feel exactly the opposite

most screamo just blends together for me, it takes something special to get me interested

i guess emo does to, just not as much
