i got my subscription for free.

to check for queued songs, if you have itunes, click the visualizer pull down menu and check "iscrobbler." then just click the visualizer button on the bottom right part of itunes and it should come up.

i remember audioscrobbler. the logo was cooler looking.

morrissey 01-01-2006 07:17 PM

I use Itunes.

Visualiser > make sure iScrobbler (or whatever plugin you use) is checked, then turn visualiser on (ctrl+t).

shiiiii. my god, i am so fast!

anyone know when it's gonna be back up? i dont even know why this is so important to me. all it is is what ive listened to in what amounts and yet, i'm always compelled to check it.

IAJP 01-01-2006 07:52 PM

I hate that my last.fm account's going to run out, it upsets me.

Haha same. Nothing that ever comes up surprises me, I know exactly what I listen to and don't need a website with fancy charts to tell me. Yet I check it all the time. :upset:

I wish the community there was a little better though. I haven't made any connections with anyone over there, despite forums, journals, neighbours etc. I still only communicate with people I know from MX when I'm at that site. It's too bad.

How do some of you guys manage over 100 listens from one artist in a week?

Killtacular 01-01-2006 11:36 PM

Dedication.
How do some of you guys manage over 100 listens from one artist in a week?
some people playing music overnight I think.

I seriously think some people on there just leave a certain artist on repeat 24/7(even if they arent at a computer) just to try to be the #1 fan on there. See the top Pink Floyd fans for example, an impossible number of plays.

Freezing Moon 01-01-2006 11:54 PM
How do some of you guys manage over 100 listens from one artist in a week?
It can be done, but binge listening is something I find really hard to do. I did it with Ulver when I first heard them though, because I could listen to them all day and be listening to 3 or so genres. Still, I only managed just over 100 listens and by the end of it I had no desire to listen to Ulver again for a long time.

I just put on an album and chill, or play bass or watch TV or talk on the phone, I like having background music. So sometimes the album plays again, the 100+ plays for me are usually me listen to a discography (that I own) of one artist while doing homework or reading.

niobium 01-02-2006 01:49 PM

If anyone is really in love with Last.fm, and needs to see what you want to listen to on a constant basis, then sign up for Gerpok. Not as good, but it will get the job done. But it records almost everything you listen to, even if you didn't listen past the halfway part.

Nobuo Uematsu, Final Fantasy Soundtrack Composer. Music Brainz turned all my nobuo tags into that jibberish. By the way, never use Music Brainz.
