Pantaleimon, as in the thing from Digimon? Awesome name.
|
it's the musical project of David Tibet's (now) ex-wife
just some pretty modern folk with female vocals and ambient elements, not much more than that but her albums seem to be sold for like anywhere between $3-$10 on Coptic Cat and I had some spare money each month so I figured why not also bought the soundtrack of Wild Tigers I Have Known, haven't seen the film of anything but has some Current 93, Pantaleimon and other folksy stuff on it. |
been searching for an industrial thread for ages...prawwps...got into nurse with wound and coil lately, also the obligatory throbbing gristle, DAF, SPK and test dept..
possibly my favourite is cabaret voltaire, if you would class them industrial..i know a lot of their stuff is more electronic but 2x45 and red mecca are deffinitely really industrial. once more, cúúl thredd gaiyz.. |
I just listened to CV's Micro-Phonies for the first time actually, great New Wave/Synthpop type stuff
Mix-Up, The Voice of America and the Acid Horse project with Al Jourgenson were pretty good as well, I have Red Mecca to listen to next |

agh man red mecca is the one. absolutely one of the greatest albums ever...it's got a sound to it i feel is vital to all good industrial music, it sounds totally hollow and empty, but it's completely loud and in your face (not in a 'hanoi rocks are in your face' kind of way, just literally impossibly to avoid)..
|
in fact, no ones reviewed red mecca. criminal! whut thu fuhhg. i am going to do that right now. stay tee-yewned..
|
looking forward to listening to it
Try Severed Heads, easily the best first-wave industrial in my opinion
I thought Burroughs was the only first-wave industrial according to you |
Red Mecca is fantastic.
|
it's an experience for sure..just remember being so shocked at how lifeless music could sound when i first heard it. as for NWW and coil..those guys fail to shock me, they disgust me (in the best possible way of course)
|
only listened to Coil's Horse Rotorvator so far, its great
my favourite post TG project release is still probably Chris & Cosey's Heartbeat, need some more Psychic TV etc. |
I thought Burroughs was the only first-wave industrial according to you
Um that was something you said to troll me, i never said that. I just said that if you wanted to be really technical it's only industrial if it was released on IR because industrial was originally coined to describe the output of that record label and not to be an actual genre |
that chris and cosey album is insane..really follows on from the TG sound excellently. psychic TV are good man, in many ways i prefer them to TG..they're just not really industrial, a lot of their stuff is very spacey and kind of new-age psychedelic..totally in contrast to T.G. like..still great though..i love a lot of music from this era dearly. right..red mecca.
|
plenty of love for all weird kinds of post-industrial in here

NWW is good.

I just like firing you up Alex thats all
the only real way to fire me up is by denying marilyn manson's genius |
Who is his genius?
|
the only real way to fire me up is by denying marilyn manson's genius
please do go on |
haha i heard the beautiful people the other day on the radio..literally almost said 'wtf'.
|
i listen to antichrist superstar every other day
just downloaded smells like children, trying to get my hands on the promo version tho because that one has recordings of him binding and coking groupies backstage and forcing them to confess to childhood sexual abuse |
marilyn manson blows
i said it |
Smells Like Children is a horrible album title
|
he likes all the same books and movies as you
|
i used to be abit scared of marlyin manson, i listened to the hype and believed he was the devil or something.
|
yeah I taped a couple of his songs off the radio when I was a kid and was semi-obsessed with him for a while
Antichrist Superstar def has its moments I can only take him in small doses though cause he can be kind of obnoxious and annoying
he likes all the same books and movies as you
i'm not surprised lol he called Boyd Rice on the phone and said "I want to corrupt every child in America" or something |
Yeah I always respected him immensely for that statement
|
His autobiography was full of so much awkward pop decadence that about ten pages in i had to admit to myself that i'll probably never be half the rebel he is
